Steph O (nl) wrote: Definitely not a cheery movie, "Song for a Raggy Boy" is pretty much "Dead Poets Society" only Irish and MUCH sadder. 2 people are shot and killed in the first minute or so and there are some disturbing Priest+boy scenes. The fact that this movie is based on a memoir makes it all the more disturbing. Great acting - especially from the kids. So this is definitely worth watching if you don't mind a slightly depressing (but good) movie every now and then.
Averil W (it) wrote: Great film for a quiet night in. The film isn't exactly fast-paced, but that's part of its charm. I was a little bit worried about it being a comedy since it was based on real events, and I was afraid it might get a bit too slapstick, but the writers were really sensitive to the characters and made them really believable and lovable. It's billed as a comedy, but it's deeper than that. There's a lot of emotions involved, and all in all, it's a really good 'feel-good' saturday night film if you want something a bit light and warm.

What baffles me is when people decide to live their lives by these fictional ideas and themes; fashioning a dentist office to appear as a Star Trek haven, that's just creepy! This documentary follows some die hard 'trekkies' (some prefer 'trekker'), and the two terms are discussed. With interviews from prominent cast members of the original, TNG, DS9, and Voyager, this is full of information and insight about this culture. Pretty interesting.

James H (mx) wrote: Platoon is one of the greatest war films of all times with great performances from Charlie Sheen, Willem Defoe and others which creates very likeable characters. The score for this movie suits it perfectly and the narrative and journey you go through with these character is heart breaking and worryingly realistic. Superb!

The plot line for the film is rather understandable, the acting for the film is rather decent, the way the film is directed is fantastic, and the action sequences are brainless fun. Considered at least by me as one of the "best" action films out there, Taken is a well directed and thought out action film.
