Whilst some of the cuts from storyline can make it at times feel a bit choppy and distant it does manage to capture a great sense of unfolding tactical drama. The battle scenes are also captivating, although it often feels like the generals are taking on the entire enemy army whilst their soldiers provide a somewhat static backdrop.
Konrad R (de) wrote: This movie has quite few brilliant lines and distinguishable feeling of 70s. It has already gained cult status among some. The ending in the style of all these classic road movies - final shot is really strong.
Sol H (br) wrote: Not a good film, but probably the earliest film I'd consdier to be a true slasher film ('Psycho' isn't, 'Peeping Tom' had a bit of a way to go). As is the case with all giallo, I absolutely adored the film's style. Some of its shot were amazing and really quite out there, others were utterly over the top in the best kind of way. The colours were all lush, especially the bright reds which become very important when used throughout the film as blood... it's just so stylish. But yeah, the film's plot is nothing special. Something about a guy in a mask killing people or whatever. Who cares? 5/10
Richard L (mx) wrote: This movis is set in a soon-to-be-post-apocalyptic, nuclear cold-war era UK, with an improbable yet highly original scientific twist (climate change) that is clearly relevant in today's context. The story is told from people working in a newspaper's point of view, so you also get some "insider view" on the media. The rhythm is fast, the acting is strong, and the dialogue has film noir elements with a distinct touch of British humor. The ending is awesome.
Ibraheem M (br) wrote: You may not like the director jumping you between different timeline points, but you will sure like the chemistry that arouses between the film's leading star, Hepburn and Finney.
