In here, his wit is at its sharpest, giving us a little insight into what motivates the different personalities in the business. There are moments of unbridled hilarity, particularly in the scenes where Olive inadvertently tries to derail the play.Great acting, funny lines and wonderful period setting make this a must-see Allen comedy.

Pavandeep S (br) wrote: A tale of revenge, sword-throwin style. This was really a fascinating movie by Bava, the weay he develops and eventually shows the character is really interesting, I don think the entire movie is innovative other than being shot outdoors a lot, which happened in one of the sequences too in Tre Volti I Paura, but there there was a strong Gothic feel, here, it is more brutal, more suspense orientated and really exciting and cool.
Stephanie M (it) wrote: Ooooh... was Ms. Stanwyck one complicated broad in this one. Lying, scheming, trampy, devious- aka AWESOME. A cheap tacked on morality ending kinda brings the movie down a bit but other than that this was exactly what the pre-code era did best- make women complicated, difficult, and less perfect. Them dames didn't really get a chance to be like this again until the 60's. BTW, blink-and-you-miss him first role by John Wayne looking so young you might not even realize it's him.
