Jenny S (ru) wrote: I thought this was a really cute movie. It's definitely disney material with the fairytale life. Michael Keaton is the president however I feel that he wasn't right for the part. Katie Holmes was amazing and played her role perfectly and of course Mark Lucas is handsome and the two of them capture everyone's dream of a first true love.
Brian H (fr) wrote: Exactly what you would expect, sheer brilliance!! Don't bother with the remaining three they literally reuse footage from this film and give our hero a lame Ferris Bueller type sass.
Matt M (ca) wrote: The story of a group of friends in the days previous one of their marriages, as they share their fears of growing old in Baltimore in 1959. Levinson's film is an intimate sight on masculine fears and vulnerabilities mixed well into a nostalgic and conventionally romanticised portrait of the America of diners and dance halls in the late fifties.
Michael F (au) wrote: Hollywood should have learned its lesson - actors & writers are not directors. If Crichton stayed in the writer's chair, a real director could have made a nice little thriller here. "Looker" had an interesting premise and style but immediately plunged into a meaningless waste of 2 hours.Susan Dey, matured from Laurie Partridge into a beautiful actress, served no purpose but to look nice. James Coburn was completely unnecessary, except for box office sales. And the "cat & mouse" detective Dorian Harewood vs. person of interest Albert Finney loses credibility after they reveal the killer early on.This was 1980, the year we entered the age of computers, video games & TV editing consoles. Crichton used these themes only to steer this movie into an outdated digital-video mess.

Sanity Assassin (au) wrote: clearly just literally a vehicle for tom hardy. never thought i'd see a film set wholly in a car seat. i figured the most minimalist movies would ever get would be reservoir dogs being pretty much set in a room. the atmosphere of the filming and isolationism as well as the only actors performance werent dull or boring at any point but it still remains just a monologue. to achieve the same effect i could've read a short book. could've done with another half hour runtime on the end.
