They gave this 83% when by it's a laugh trip as two bumbling idiots, largely on account of the Boyfriend, make mistakes after mistakes that you celebrate and delight when they get punished. First big mistake was when BF goes inside a house. Everybody knows you don't trespass. It's against the law. Still we gave them another one last chance. But a few scenes later, he made the mistake of driving fast with his car even AFTER he's cleared off danger. By that time, we are already celebrating when he crashes the car.

He brings on his own crew of former soldiers to help the effort. A pretty decent way to spend a few hours watching. Typical Van Damme stuff, so you know what to expect. Doesn't really do much beyond just JCVD kicking a** and taking names, but why else are you watching his movies. The action scenes were a bit of a disappointment, as it felt they cut away from JCVD's abilities and I didn't like that. Otherwise, a decent film.

Edgar C (ru) wrote: Besides being Masumura's outstanding debut, this is melodrama in its finest form, and yet it does not follow Hollywood's formula and stamp. The film shows romance and overall drama with an absolute purity rarely seen on screens, big and small ones; clichs can also enlighten the flavor of a story and this is strong evidence. I reckon I am a sucker for these movies, but this is a gorgeous ride. Kuchizuke is my lover. 99/100
