Nisha K (kr) wrote: Unexpectedly great. Every adjective that comes to mind feels cheesy and clich (C)d, which is the opposite of what this film represents. Seth from The OC and Blair from Gossip Girl sounds like a recipe for an early noughties teen chick flick but Life Partners is a sweet, funny and quietly observant story about figuring out who you are. Friendships evolve as life happens - and that's OK.

Jerica A (ru) wrote: I think that the general idea of the plot of the movie was rather far fetched. If you can get past that, the ridiculousness of the adult characters is almost to much to choke down. John Goodman is only in the movie in sporadic intervals for a total of probably about 15 minutes, yet he is the best actor in the movie. None of the characters are really explained well, nor does it really tell you why the "boy's home" is set up like a prison, when they're just supposed to be homeless. You're supposed to believe that these kids can survive in the woods in the cold and rain and they'll be fine. You're supposed to believe that a man has raised his son for 11 years in the woods eating wild life when a small town is 6 miles away. The outrageousness of the events that take place is absolutely ridiculous. It's like watching the 1990s Saturday morning shows like Power Ranges and Can of Worms with the bad acting and lazy writing except it lasts 2 hours instead of 20 minutes. You should not watch this movie. It is a waste of time, boring, and not worth the $2.99 itunes is renting it for.

Kay D (es) wrote: Decent film, though there are many flaws. Absolutely superb acting by Michael Sheen, a must see just for his performance.

Christian C (es) wrote: Great script, better than average costumes, decent acting (I say that even with Kevin Costner in a leading role!), good directing -- and lots of historical drama. "Thirteen Days" is the Cuban Missile Crisis lesson you wish you'd had in high school.

Thomas P (us) wrote: Thoughtful, nuanced, HUH-Larious. IMPROVES on the original movie, adds more interesting characters, made to thrill children while slyly navigating adult interactions and relationships with heart, humor, and a confident clarity just complex enough to show layers and depth.Truly Brilliant stuff. Adults will gain a new respect for what otherwise gets written off as kid stuff.Worthy.5 of 5

Walter C (kr) wrote: not many know about this gem - can easily be seen over and over. writing reminiscent of Law & Order - great commentary about law, corruption, and morality.

MF J (jp) wrote: As a kid i watched this film and had a great time, i'm sure if i were to watch it again today i wouldn't enjoy it as much but let's not spit of the past.... it's entertaining & mostly aimed for young audiences.

Rhonda L (fr) wrote: Never seen this movie before. Watched it today on Father's Day. Excellent movie. Tear jerker about the aging process of our parents both mind and body, the adult children as the caregivers and the seemingly uncaring medical care system.

Matthew A (fr) wrote: A masterwork of natural versus unnatural world. Powerful, beautiful, disturbing, poetic, thought-provoking.

Dave J (br) wrote: Monday, October 24, 2011 (1957) Raintree County DRAMA Based on the popular novel, with some similarities to "From Here To Eternity" echoing the Montgomery Cliff's role as being one of the most desired and the most righteous person while growing up in a small town called "Raintree County", where at the beginning has him searching that tree through the swamp before going off to war while married to the Elizabeth Taylor character during the 1850s. The movie might seem to be too long in parts and ambitiously pointless, but interesting becauuse of it's history about slavery etc... 3 out of 4

Andrey B (it) wrote: Somewhat chaotic and messy in the beginning but overally powerful story backed by the strong performance by Daniel Day-Lewis and uncompromising Scorcese direction.

Vishal M (jp) wrote: super entertaining movie! wish we could see more movies of this kind.

Al M (us) wrote: A terrible film that becomes somewhat fun if you can make to the final third of the movie. Slow, dull, and badly acted to begin with, the film does not really become any good until about 50 minutes in when typically twisted, witchy happenings start occuring. Abyssmal performances from David Hasselhoff and a pregnant Linda Blair make for some memorably terrible lines and sequences. Also, always good to see Linda Blair possessed in a non-Exorcist film--great to see that she can stretch herself as an actress.
