Anders A (au) wrote: Oh my god.. what a horrible meaningless propaganda movie. "Based" on a true story, turned into the most unrealistic war movie ever. Its like believing Ghostbusters is a true story. I like Ben Foster, but what on earth is he doing in a movie like this. And that being said, Mark Wahlberg on the cast list is a no-go.

Anthony S (gb) wrote: The film that inspired "The Departed" is far less bloated and arguably more suspenseful for it. We don't get inside the characters as much as we do in Scorsese's version, but directors Wai-keung Lau and Alan Mak make up for it with thrilling encounters and a philosophical coda.

And given all that, it still carries his signature style and artistic flare. Despite his last two terrible films, I believe this one puts him back in the eyes of true horror fans. The film itself is reminiscent of "The Running Man", and if you're not looking for much of a story-line, it's the perfect horror to mindlessly entertain you.
