Sometimes the lack of hype can improve your feeling towards a film, since it rises above non-existent expectations - but it still has to be good.I'm as cynical as the next guy, but this is a heartwarmer I never get enough of. The acting is spot on, it's funny, it's subtle in all the right ways, and the movie earns the sweet ending by never being too contrived or cute or over-the-top. It's genuinely funny and charming as it builds to its conclusion. For those that were fans of Kelly MacDonald from Trainspotting, or more recently No Country For Old Men, check this out.

Seeing Malcolm McDowell at work is always a treat, and Alan Price's music is great as well, but there seems to be voids when compared to what Lindsey Anderson had with if... I don't possess near enough literary or philosophical knowledge to give if... a worthy review or to show how much love I have for it, but it seems that O Lucky Man, despite being a sequel, grants nothing to the tales of Mick Travis.

Ian R (gb) wrote: What the hell, this was actually not bad? While Michael Rooker is not the best choice for a leading man, the premise of this movie was actually somewhat interesting and there were some halfway decent action scenes. Not up to the standards of Van Damme's best, but by far better than some of the other DTV crap his co-horts are putting out... cough cough... Seagal.. cough cough.
