(kr) wrote: I dont see what the hype was with this film. I was really disappointed. Nothing original about the film except for the better Bigfoot angle. Troll Hunter and Blair Witch are much better films then this and 100 times more exciting. The film does have some descent acting and a funny script.

Sophie believed that love never dies and finding it may mean a lot of obstacle but even if it looks impossible look what happen now. Sophie finds her own love. It was a beautiful story. Everyday we look life loveless and that is not positive.

(ru) wrote: Herschell Gordon Lewis' Two Thousand Maniacs! may be low in the gore department, but the story is completely bonkers. A group of southern folk invite people who are passing through town to their annual festival - only to later kill them in some ridiculous ways and eat them afterwards at a BBQ. I actually like stuff like Blood Feast more than I do this. I'm not sure if it's because of the amount of gore in that film compared to this one, but it just seems much more fun than this one. Not that this one isn't enjoyable, but it has some slow areas with character build-up that doesn't go anywhere. The ending is also an obvious conclusion way before you get there to see it. It's all bad in the good way, but mediocre when you look at the rest of Lewis' work.

(kr) wrote: This is a painstakingly slow moving movie that has absolutely nothing to say. Too much filler. Too much forced drama. Mark Ruffalo is the bright light in this otherwise boring, tedious film. If you want to watch something substantial and revelatory on the topic, I suggest going straight for the documentary and skipping this one altogether.
(br) wrote: I am so bias when it comes to Simon Pegg movies. He has this peculiar comedy that I just adore. My husband describes his movies as a trick, "If you listen to someone tell you about his movies they sound like the worst action/sci-fi movie possible but they turn out to be awesome!" I could not have articulated it better myself. This one is no exception. Simon Pegg is a hit man that gets caught up in a web of another family's drama.

(ag) wrote: The songs were awful, wandering, pointless, void of depth. The plot had real potential but got bogged down in awkwardness by the middle, and though the ending was perfectly acceptable it felt a little like hitting a neglected theme note. On the up side both of the leads were very strong. A well acted movie, but even that couldn't save it. Just like Barbara's voice couldn't save the music. Still, there were several truly enjoyable well written scenes, all in the early Yeshiva days, that I wouldn't mind seeing again.
