Courtney K (de) wrote: this was a great little short -- only 15 minutes; so how could I not watch it? The animation was good and the story was fantastic. and oh, that ending! it got me... i would definitely recommend looking this one up.

Calvin L (gb) wrote: At first sight, there might not be a point in making this movie, but I have been touched by the sufferings which my female ancestors had to endure, and it is really an eye opener to the intimate private world of early Chinese women, great soundtrack during the roundtable gathering of the women too

Masaio S (it) wrote: Strange little horror flick, half slasher, half ghost story.

Jess L (kr) wrote: This is definitely a film that will slip under many people's radar. I wouldn't recommend this to anyone unless they enjoy 'Curb your enthusiasm' because this reeks of Garlin and Curb's humour, which for me was wonderful. That said, this film has little steam and though not a conventional narrative - we are sort of plonked in the middle of this guy's life to witness his failures in love and his rejections with his career, at the end of the short 1 hr 20 min run time I felt slightly jibbed as a viewer. I didn't get a lot out of watching this, there were some entertaining moments though not enough to keep me laughing, and nothing new was brought to the 'fat guy' storyline. Silverman's character was slightly annoying and after she gives her reason for sleeping with Garlin's character it didn't really make sense or feel realistic to me. Anyhoo you get the gist of it all, it's an okay movie if you like the Curb style humour and have nothing better to do for an hour and 20 mins, I haven't really sold this well have I :)

CC B (jp) wrote: Disturbing and underrated, Frailty is an effective horror movie with a good performance by director Bill Paxton and a twisty story.

Brian T (mx) wrote: Pay no attention to the other "professional" reviews of this magically entertaining classic from the 80's. It's worth the price of admission just to see Rick Baker's astonishing makeup and creature creation effects. Lithgow is at his finest dramatically and comically. The pacing of the film is a little bit suspect, but who cares. It's a heartwarming and beautiful film, and only the most cynical will find a reason to give it a thumbs down.

Christopher L (jp) wrote: Not much from Fulci here. The glorious camp and fun of films like "The Beyond" and "Zombie" is present, but a lot of blah to sit through. Some good scares and gore, though.

Leonard D (nl) wrote: It hurts that I began to watch this on the same day when I found out that one of my good friends passed away! Other than that tragedy, this is a timeless film, but will never forget the day it happened.

Dustin I (fr) wrote: A disturbing but beautiful film about the dark depths of loss that plays more like a moody, gothic fairy tale than a real life drama! This is a director I'm excited to see more from!

Nathaniel M (ca) wrote: Everyone loves the cinematography. The distant personality of the acting leaves much to the imagination. A cautionary tale how abandoning sincerity for the appearances leads to a life that misses the essence of our deepest desire. Its coldness and distance make it difficult to really identify with the characters, though the message is not lost.
