Zack L (ru) wrote: I really can't think of any flaws in this movie. I wouldn't give it a perfect 10, but it's as close to perfect as any movie I've ever seen. It really just sweeps you up into this world of intrigue and crime and takes you on a journey as the mystery of this girl unfolds before your eyes. Johnson created a somehow believable crime underworld in a high school that just makes you more curious as the story progresses. Brick is a masterfully directed movie with perfect dialogue, believable characters, and a story that keeps you guessing until the end.
Ryan Q (gb) wrote: Okay movie. Movie is a bit too feminist in POV. Criticize Male Aryans for abandoning jewish wives while glossing over fact female aryans did same to husbands. Note to directors, the women involved in this movie were the EXCEPTION, not the rule. Females as well as male germans behaved shamefully.

Sam B (au) wrote: A delightful mashup of several distinct spirits in a single collection. Magnetic Rose challenges conventions and offers a swelling physiological portrait, Stink Bomb hurls a haphazard everyman into the teeth of a military juggernaut determined to save humanity from... him, and Cannon Fodder sketches a beautifully desolate society in which live revolves around the rifling of its myriad cannons, all firing punctually into oblivion at an unseen foe. Each piece contributes a special magic in animation and subject matter, and the conventions of traditional animation are defied and expanded in each director's preferred direction, most notably Mr. Otomo's sweeping, twisting camera movements that unfold a massive cannon's lair to his viewers.
Bill B (br) wrote: Another one of those films that turns up on virtually any list of little seen horror/cult movies, this was something I was happy to finally grab on cable to watch at my leisure.A young girl enters a strange world of her imagination, where she can create her own reality, but the drawings she makes take on disturbing lives of their own.Rental?

Ryan C (it) wrote: Milos Forman is known for his meticulous filmmaking (One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest, Amadeus) and with Ragtime he doesn't disappoint. An amazing ensemble picture that is riddled with great performances. Besides, it has the incomprable James Cagney in it. Oh, and the music ain't so bad either.
Bob W (au) wrote: Another typical John Wayne movie in the John Ford type. Moves along crisply and has that old school cavalry vs. Indians theme with Wayne rescuing a woman and her son, and a bit of romance. Wayne is still young enough here to pull that off.
Jiri B (gb) wrote: Bill Murray carries this film along quite nicely.
