Dennis F (mx) wrote: I give this movie 3 1/2 stars just for Vincent Cassels' performance as the completely psychotic character Joseph. Man he had me cracking up with the weird shit he kept doing. Not really a horror movie but had some of the most bizarre characters i've seen in a while.
Michael L (gb) wrote: Amazing movie, funny and romantic plot. Great acting, good cultural lesson, and the plot is well planned. There's a lot more to the plot in the background if you look carefully. I enjoyed that. Watched the movie 15 times.
Sean S (ag) wrote: This is a unique film the setting not one most are going to like and the reflection one that most others will despise. But for those who can set that aside you will see a great film one that takes risks to present a vision of the xenophobic nativism and deference to fascism that can underlie some parts of American society.

Dave M (es) wrote: I was hooked in by the very unique (for it's time) opening credit sequence. And then was sold by the scene where the entire crowd of Tom supporters stand in honor of Atticus passing by, after losing the case. A truly emotional and honest moment. A movie that still resonates with today's political climate. Wonderful movie. I'm sorry it took me so long to watch.

Tatsuhito K (ag) wrote: I like good Robert Rodriguez films, but Desperado is not one of them. Banderas makes a fine character, but everything else that surrounds him feels so tasteless. The story is dull, the action lacks energy and gets repetitive, and there is hardly any character development. I admire the style and Rodriguez's frenzy editing style, but other than that it is an incredibly forgettable piece by a very talented director. Desperado is a disappointment.
