Scott W (it) wrote: I have to say, I thought this was really good. I was a little skeptical going in, but I bought it from the beginning. Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis have really good chemistry. Almost too much so, because I thought from early on it was pretty clear they had feelings for each other. The movie is very self-aware, with the main characters constantly making fun of romantic comedies and they patterns they fall into. Which of course this movie ends up falling into as well. But I felt like the twists and turns that keep them apart are more believable than most romantic comedies. And having a great supporting cast doesn't hurt (including Luke from Modern Family!).

Simon D (ca) wrote: If you are a fan of indie films then this is for you. It stars the current indiefilm superstar Mark Duplass but it's not his best. I do admit, you only get endings like that in indie films though, fair play for originality.

Ken T (ag) wrote: Ask just about any critic about the best filmmaker this past decade and you will likely hear the name Jia Zhangke. Considered to be the 6th generation of Chinese filmmakers, Zhangke has crafted a cinematic language all his own. Platform plays out over a time of change in China - beginning with a very pro-communist environment to a more pop culture land that cheaply imitates the US. Make sure to catch the uncut 3+ hour version if possible!

Carlos I (nl) wrote: Interesting little curiosity. Great opening and concept that slowly descends into a gonzo absurdity. This is probably something that could make for a really interesting remake.

James H (mx) wrote: Exceptionally poingnant, extremely well written. Shirley Mac Laine and Robert Mitchum are well cast and make a surprisingly good team. Most of the film focuses solely on them, not much of a supporting cast. Always held my interest, very well developed characters. A wonderful film.
