(kr) wrote: It was disappointing. Story was slow and it wasn't at all funny. I guess I'm glad I saw the movie, because now I know for sure I don't want to go to a male strip club.

(br) wrote: Not much for the acting, but it's very tense. I don't know, I like movies like this, watch it.
(ca) wrote: This is an enchanting film with a good mixture of laughs and tears. The characters are warm and interesting. Lively and Minghella do a good job of bringing the levels to their characters without beating the audience over the head with dramatic moments. The story has a few minor flaws but the eclectic romance will render you unable to leave your seat.

(it) wrote: "Just Like Heaven" is basically your typical romantic comedy with a supernatural twist but there are enough good things to elevate it above "just average". The movie is about a man named David (Mark Ruffalo) who sees the ghost of a sexy Reese Witherspoon (she plays a Dr. Elizabeth) who is haunting his apartment. The two of them don't get along, they argue a lot but their constant bickering makes you think that they might just fall in love by the time the credits roll. Some flaws of the movie include the fact that the movie is pretty predictable because it follows the same arc as every other fluffy romantic comedy you can find out there, despite the element of the ghost being thrown in there. It's also incredibly irritating to watch a movie where the male lead has never, ever seen any movies in his entire life. How else do you explain the fact that David is constantly talking to an invisible woman and making himself look like he's a crazy person? At least pretend like you

(jp) wrote: Gets darker than I like and goes places i wish it didn't; even so, this is a remarkable powerful story of a lost soul fighting (until the very end) for a redemption he does not believe he is worthy of. And Mickey Rourke has never been better (except for DINER, maybe).
(es) wrote: Quite simply astonishing, and virtually impossible to keep your eyes off the screen -- if you can bear to keep 'em open, that is! This one is all over the map! Phenomenal acting, at times over-the-top and hysterical, but always dead-serious. This film could never be made today! The 70's were truly the greatest decade of obliterating the boundaries of cinematic art. If you've never seen it, then you've never seen anything like it EVER! (Yes, exclamation points abound in this film...!!!) Definitely NOT for the squeamish, the prudish, or cerebrally stunted.... You've been forewarned...! One of my all-time favorites; and, without doubt, one of the greatest feats of celluloid ever produced...! Period.
(mx) wrote: While not a bad movie, I feel its really overrated. The battle scenes I would say are the best part of the film. On a technical level there isn't anything badly done. The problem I have with the movie is that the story and acting are incredibly uninteresting. Russell Crowe's performance is to have the same stoic face and monotone voice for the entire film. Joaquin Phoenix was pretty over the top at points and made it sometimes unintentionally hilarious. But besides that, this film feels extremely bland and kinda boring at parts.68/100
