What Freddie Steinmark (Finn Wittrock) wants most in the world is to play football. Although he is deemed too small by the usual athletic standards, his father trains him hard. Freddie brings a fight to the game that ultimately gets him noticed--by none other than legendary University of Texas coach Darrell Royal (Aaron Eckhart). Awarded a scholarship and a chance to play for the Longhorns, Freddie sets off to Austin with his loving high school sweetheart, Linda (Sarah Bolger), determined to make the team. Alongside his old teammate Bobby Mitchell (Rett Terrell) and new pal James Street (Juston Street), Freddie is put through the paces of a grueling practice schedule. The boys' camaraderie off the field translates into solid playing on it, and they rise up the depth charts, giving the Longhorns a real chance to improve upon their mediocre record. But just when they're reveling in the success of the season, Freddie suffers an injury that leads to a shocking diagnosis and the biggest ... . You can read more in Google, Youtube, Wiki

Daniel H (mx) wrote: After seeing Timothy Spall in either bit or supporting parts, he comes into his own as Albert Pierrepoint, Britain's chief hangman who developed a quicker technique of hanging condemned people at the gallows. The effects of the death penalty are seen through the eyes of himself, the prison guards, and of course the condemned, who include a wrongfully hanged man (Timothy Evans), a chance acquaintance of his, and Ruth Ellis, whose life story was already a movie, Dance With A Stranger, starring Miranda Richardson.Spall is sympathetic in his role as Pierrepoint, a human like the rest of us, but someone who leaves that identity whenever he has to take a life. He later comes to realize that he is no better than the people whom he hanged. Yet who should be given a reprieve or get off? Certainly not the Nazi war criminals of Auschwitz and Belsen who committed atrocities, but what about someone like Ruth Ellis, whose crime was a crime of passion, similar to that of Pierrepoint's acquaintance friend James Corbitt?A thoughtful look at the world of capital punishment in a country that eventually abolished it.

Elgan D (au) wrote: Billed by some as a horror but it is far from that as it is not scary whatsoever, the fact that none of the characters are likeable makes it a difficult movie to engage with. Stupid premise. Romero should stick to zombies.

Tyler S (br) wrote: I really enjoyed this film. I am a huge fan of Michael Mann. I love his direction, and how the screen looks in his films. It is very gritty and reaL. Another thing about his films is the settings. They are truly remarkable. His sky shots of skylines are awesome and it has a real genuine, gritty feel to it. I love his style. The plot was a little messy and somewhat confusing to follow at times, but I felt as the movie went, the film got better. Some really nice action scenes took place, along with some moments where you just say wow, didn't see that coming. The jumbled plot truly prevented this film from being 4 stars or more because the direction is so good as always in every Mann film. The camera work always does blow me away.Hemsworth plays a convicted hacker brought out of prison to catch a hacker who is causing a big stir in the stock market and destroying a reactor in China. His motives are unclear, and as the film goes we see the cast try to uncover who this guy is, who works for him, and what he's doing with his hacking. Hemsworths character is familiar with the code language being broken so his skills are much needed. It starts off strange, and goes right into somewhat of a jumbled mess, but that mess gets clearer and clearer as the movie goes.Great set pieces, editing, and locations.

Raji K (jp) wrote: This movie is a bore. The first half of this movie tries to build relationship between the characters, and though it is somewhat successful, the ride to Vegas just takes too long. By the end of the trip they clearly hope you are attached to the characters enough that you too are torn that they are fighting each other. This did not work at all, and the boxing match was forced, and the conclusion was so obvious based on the discussions prior. This is how to make an awful boxing movie.
