Although it doesn't quite hit the level of Ed Wood Mario Van Peebles take on his father's voyer into independant film making is fucking excellent & a must for fulm buffs especially the revolutionary ones. Sweet Sweetback's Baadasssss Song ws the prelude to the blaxploitation genre & this is a nice slice of racial history at the time when America wan't ready for the black antihero. They'd rather watch comedies from the colored community. Melvin was as serious as cancer ready to change the landscape & he did. The biggest grossing independant movie of the year & it was rated X by an all white jury. Baadasssss for certain

Patrick W (br) wrote: This was a decent adaptation to Stephen King's novel (where the story comes from). While it does not touch on important plot points in the novel, it still is effective in its story of an outsider girl with special powers. It was nice to see the film explore more into Carrie realizing her powers than the original one. Also, Moretz is actually a teenager (like Carrie) in this film. In the previous version, Sissy Spacek was in her mid-20s when she shot the film. Not the best Stephen King adaptation and only a decent re-make.

Typical 'looney professor' creates his own 'Neanderthal' out of himself. Fake 'sabertooths' running around.. Pretty girl who screams well, and a handsome young Dr. you can guess where its going, and how it will end. But, with a good beer or two, its fun! I really enjoyed how one of the locals says, 'Los Angeleeeeezz'
