"Sofia introduces her three adult daughters to her new lover who is their age and happens to be a woman. The women, in particular Elvira find it extremely difficult to accept their mothers sudden apparent sexual reversal. The news pushes the neurotic Elvira to the point of nervous breakdown. Sol, the youngest daughter, writes a lude rock song about it and performs in front of them at a concert. The daughters plot together on how to get their mothers new girlfriend, a native Czech, and brilliant pianist, out of her life. Their plot goes terribly wrong and turns the film from a light-hearted comedy, into mildly amusing drama."

Bryan H (mx) wrote: The Den is not at all good, it's just like another slasher film like: The Girl in the Photographs. It's a slasher film through a webcam. It's not original, it mimics Paranormal Activity, but the bootleg version. - I had many questions on this film. "Who were the people behind the masks", "Were the police ever involved since 2-3 officers were killed?", "Were their ever an investigation with that Maddy girl?" Now if you think about it, their are patterns. I guarantee to you that Maddy's family and friends were murdered as well.. That's just a serial killers pattern. - How come these people were not caught? Police officers and specialists are extremely good at finding patterns and places. In this movie, they only showed one place. I'm sure the specialists could easily find this. But the point is, was there a investigation? This is a mass serial homicide that has been going on for how long? This movie has no plot, maybe a little back story, but no answers. The only thing people would say is "They used proxies so you could not find them" well that does not stop the fact that specialists could not find their "hide out"... Or use finger prints, they were not using gloves, or their shoe size, that is easily traceable. This movie has no backstory besides the point that they murder people for money on a website that is accessible by just the normal web? Why not the deep web? Kind of silly if you ask me. This movie is overall bad. - Just like another slasher film where everyone dies.

While I am always intrigued by the plots of her screenplays, I've never been a fan of her writing on the whole. For every sharp line of dialogue there are eighteen that are obvious, forced or in her version of "reality," which is really only movie reality. However, this is my favorite of her work -- I found the character of JUNO to be smug and unlikable, while JENNIFER'S BODY was tone-deaf and awkward.A fierce performance by Charlize Theron but bland, forgettable work from everyone else except Patton Oswald who does what he can with a bizarrely created character who was the victim of a sort-of hate crime. Something is off about this movie but if you're an actor, it's worth it to see what Charlize Theron created with this role.
