Niharika (Charmi) is a young journalist working in a Telugu News Channel. After being chided by her boss for bringing 'boring' news, she starts looking for some controversial material. For this purpose she ventures out alone in the night into Hyderabad. Unknowingly, Niharika has a pen camera, which happens to capture a secret talk of a politician, which if it could come out, will dismantle his status. He sends his men after her. Niharika in the mean time starts looking at Hyderabad's dark secrets during the night. She also meets Prasad (Jagapathi Babu) who is a drunkard with a good heart, and along with him tries to solve the political problem. How things turn completely against her and how she overcomes the difficulties form the rest of the story.

Sometimes changes are circumstantial, and sometimes we can control them; but in the end it is not about changes, but about the way we respond to them and that is what I think Claire Denis illustrates in her film ?35 Shots of Rum? .Lionel (Alex Descas) works as a train driver who lives with his daughter Josephine (Mati Diop) who is a college student. The relationship they have consists only of tender glances and a sudden word or two. The basic camera use is convenient to demonstrate the pace of the life of the characters as well as the importance of the relationship to both father and daughter. The story is basic, but Claire?s powerful timing, along with the acting by Alex Descas, makes it interesting and solid. The most important scene in the movie is a masterpiece, clear proof of the excellent directing skills of Claire Denis, The scene begins when Lionel and his daughter go out to a concert with, what it seems to be Lionel?s ex girlfriend or probably a pretender played by Nicole Dogue, and Noe, a neighbor that aspires the love of Josephine; in the way a car failure forces them to stop at a local bar. In there Noe finally gets the courage to express his love to Josephine, but her timidly and with the utmost respect to her father, rejects him. Lionel meets and dances with a woman accepting the changes that are happening in his life, and finally also him reshaping with them. This scene is the turning point of every single one of the characters, almost poetical, little use of camera action and the littlest dialogue possible combined with an excellent soundtrack makes this scene a wonderful highest point in the story.Denis not only displays the characters, but also lets the audience play with the characters? emotions in order for us to become part of the movie.?35 Shots of Rum? has the same great artistical achievements of other past Denis films like?Beau Travail?, a movie based on the book ?Billy Budd? by Herman Mellville. Just like ?Beau Travail?, the scenes of ?35 Shots of Rum? are often with little dialogue but with a symbolism that makes them valuable and poetic.

Roy Z (nl) wrote: I think Hardcore is awful, but i like this documentary. Some great interviews from Ian MacKaye, H.R. from Bad Brains and of course Henry Rollins and a ton of other players giving you first hand accounts (along with great video) of what it was like being part of such an intense scene, and how they had to literally fight to keep it alive.

Billy P (fr) wrote: I thought this was a good film. It had a good atmosphere, there was really only one gory scene but it was truly a blood bath. This film had no nudity which sort of bummed me out cause they kept making it seem like there would be some. Perverted doctors getting murdered by lunatics with wine glasses...enough said. Great movie.

Carlos M (kr) wrote: An awfully bleak and depressing drama that doesn't offer us any door or way in to connect with a deplorable alcoholic who only wants to die and a pitiable prostitute in need of his love - and her interview scenes are just intrusive, unnecessary and heavy-handed like most of the script.

Joshua L (au) wrote: The Story of the Kray twins is just incredible. This movie does well in approaching the story of how they became infamous thru their more famous early adventures, however my problem with the movie was with the casting.
