(kr) wrote: Mine Games is very interesting...it tries to be many things, but these things don't necessarily make the whole any greater. We have a good group of friends, all likeable in their own ways, go to a cottage for some relaxation and come across an abandoned mine. The characters begin seeing dead versions of each other, and one character hasn't been taking his meds. The mine is rather spooky, as is the things found are very creepy. The group falls apart well, but the time travel element just doesn't work. The loose ends are tied up neatly, but it just doesn't feel like it goes anywhere.Despite its lack of real cohesion, Mine Games is enjoyable and definitely worth a watch.

(fr) wrote: creativity is gud, but animation is not so excellent ,supporting charactors are reallyy well created, and all over average movie
(nl) wrote: Suffers mightily from it's low budget. The audio is muffled, the lighting is dark and while the leads give barely adequate performances the supporting cast range from amatuerish to downright awful. The direction is all over the place, while it follows a linear plot line at the beginning the last twenty minutes are extremely muddled.

(nl) wrote: I admit it: as a kid, i liked Super Mario Bros. There... and I didn't care about the source material, if you can even call it that. It still brings fond childhood memories to me.
(mx) wrote: Moore gives an interesting performance. The acting and directing talent is there, all around. Still, despite a heartfelt ending, the screenplay sadly never manages to truly rise above the conventions of the era/genre.

(kr) wrote: WOW! Two great actors leading a terrifically plotted movie! Keep your eyes peeled for future "tough guy" Charles Bronson in one of his frst roles... This film was made in a time where Hollywood was very unfamiliar with the concepts of "grey" or "ambiguity". Lancaster is a complete bastard throughout the film... (and you just KNOW it won't end well for him)... but you can't help like the guy and root for his ultimate survival and success. Cooper does very well here too and it could be argued that this "morally ambiguous" 1954 AMERICAN film... actually paved the way for the successful "Spaghetti Westerns" that began to appear in the mid 60's... Nicely shot, well plotted western for fans of the genre...
