Obviously I watch mostly English movie-films, and I really like a lot of Spanish ones, but most Danish ones I've seen are up there with the best of them. Interesting story: blonde babe get engaged to striking man, who also seems quite likable and funny. Before going on a trip, he is hit by a car and paralyzed. The blonde falls for the husband of the woman who hit him (Mikkelsen) who is a doctor at the hospital. They begin an affair but nothing is as simple as that. Well-written, ridiculously well-acted, and pretty good on the direction side. Lots of heavy stuff is captured very well. The paralyzed guy was good before the accident, but afterwards is very bitter. It's a real type of bitter where he pushes everyone away. He is attractive at the start of the film but becomes an ugly brute. The true hero of the movie is the nurse who puts up with his verbal abuse daily. Damn what a fine character. Right after the accident, the blonde strips in his room to try and appease him. It's quite a scene with her wearing the underwear he'd just bought her, and her wrapping his usless, unfeeling arms around her. What a tragedy on both sides. Another great scene is when Mikkelsen leaves his wife. She is a perfect example of aging beauty and handles that scene really well. Found out after what the whole Dogme 95 thing is, which this movie is a part of. Interesting and admirable way of doing film. Maybe I can even do one!

Most people who would like this movie would never admit to it, or want anyone knowing they saw it.I would guess that most people who saw the movie, and really did not like it would fall into two categories: Those who liked "Free Willy" and those that liked "Milk".
