Rob L (us) wrote: I just didn't like it very much, it was a typical slasher movie with no real new elements of horror. Wasn't very entertaining, and was really quite predictable.

Kevin C (gb) wrote: Entertaining enough just because everyone in it is super pretentious and insane.

William P (jp) wrote: Supberb ( a stunning example of life as a young black gay bohemian) ... langston hughes... " what ever happens to a dream deffered."

Amit Y (ru) wrote: Lovely movie, love the mannerisms of Julia Roberts in this. Watched it again today:-)

Wes S (ca) wrote: It's alright, but nothing really stucked out to me. The characters are decent but there didn't seem to be enough development to feel for them. The alien creature was just goofy. The story isn't bad though, and the ending is a bit touching. It just seems like there's not much else that stands out for this movie.

Jesse Z (ca) wrote: *** out of 4 stars Charles Bronson stars as a mysterious man with few words. The film's main weakness is its thinly drawn characters. Eventually all identities are revealed and explained but the characters are merely props for the plot. No real depth is added to the characters. The film is a cross between "The Cassandra Crossing" (1976) and "Murder on the Orient Express" (1974). What is impressive though is its costumes, settings, props and the train itself that reflect the period of the late 1800s. Most of the film is set onboard the train and suspense and tension are generated when several murders are committed. The claustrophobic and dark interiors of the train add onto the tension. There are several impressive performances, including Ed Lauter as a no-nonsense general and Richard Crenna as the Nevada govenor. The plot is mainly a whodunit, and at times quite convoluted. I am not sure I understand the reason for why or how certain things happen. The last twenty minutes is a cowboys and Indians shootout that is commonplace for this kind of semi-western film.

Dave Z (fr) wrote: Also known as KIDNAPPED, it shocks me that this film was lost for some 20 years. It is Bava's final masterwork, a sweaty, gritty crime-drama-action picture that grips you and never lets go. Unfolding almost in real time, it's a white-knuckler all the way. A shame Bava was never able to see it open to an audience.

Tim S (kr) wrote: This film is based on events in Tombstone, Arizona (America), including the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral and the Earp Vendetta Ride, during the 1880s. It depicts a number of western outlaws and lawmen, such as Wyatt Earp, William Brocius, Johnny Ringo, and Doc Holliday. Don't take this one too seriously - it's a western with humour sprinkled in as well as drama and action.

Rodney S (es) wrote: Donald Cammell directed this 1987 thriller about a sound technician in a little town in Arizona, that is suspected of being a serial killer of local suburban housewives. David Keith and Cathy Moriarty star in this movie, that was at the top of my Want List for quite awhile. Keith portrays Paul, whom the police have several clues that tie him to the bloody mutilation murders, and Moriarty is his wife whom is starting to believe the police. This movie has a lot of style, and what a soundtrack with Nick Mason of Pink Floyd providing the Floydish music. It falls pretty much in the art movie genre, even though it has some Giallo elements to it, and David Keith is indeed a scary guy in the best role of his career. Stunning would not be too strong of an adjective to describe this mind numbing thriller that is almost hypnotic in its approach to the story and the haunting direction of Cammell. The movie has some interesting twists and turns, and one particular scene where Paul's wife finds something hideous hidden under their bathtub is truly horrifying. This is not a movie to miss, a true cult type film that you will probably want to watch multiple times. It was well worth the effort I had to put forward to find this movie, it's definitely a favorite of mine now.

Patrick C (nl) wrote: Great story of an elderly man, Abner Meecham, put into a nursing home by his son. He is depressed by the place and runs away, heading back to his farm. When he arrives he finds another family (Choates) has leased the farm from his son and intends to buy it. Meecham acts his ornery self in an effort to drive the Choates from the farm. Lorenzo Choate and Meecham engage in a brutal battle of wills that shows the lengths to which desperation and the need to hold on to the past will drive men to actions most would consider tragic. Holbrook and McKinnon are both magnificent and Barry Corbin plays well as Meecham's only friend. Very well done and engrossing.
