Jeffrey P (jp) wrote: In the late '20s, a lovely German woman arrives in Minnesota for an arranged marriage. Prejudice abounds after the First World War, and even language keeps them apart. It's a familiar bonding story, and the storytelling could be more concise. Still, Mr. Selim's direction is as firm and understated as its Midwestern milieu.

Marvin H (it) wrote: urgh, that trailer made me cringe. And it had nothing to do with Tom Sizemore.Kids saving the day has to be handled very well (i.e. The Goonies) otherwise it can be bad news (i.e. Star Wars Episode 1).

Greg R (it) wrote: This is not a Tom and Jerry movie. This is a movie about a girl trying to find her dad, and has a bunch of useless musical numbers...and has a cat and mouse in there somewhere whose names just happen to be Tom and Jerry.

Anne F (nl) wrote: This is a really sweet, gentle film. Wily Scots, incompetent Englishmen, a brash American and the eponymous Maggie, a 'puffer' - all set in a slower moving time past.

Veronique K (gb) wrote: it's among the collection of "bad girls in film noir" but there's nothing too noir about it, just a story of a young talented doctor's struggle between integrity and wealth...and lizabeth scott is surely among the league of wealth, like daisy in the great gatsby...gee, she's surely a honey pie, her voice is so sweet and feminine (also adorable to look at) it's no surprise that the doctor will naturally go for it in the first place. but eventually our man selects the path of integrity after a mouthful taste of the sweet, cutie pie. typical man, i must say..ha. not very noir, i suppose. noir man is the creature of lust hindered by his remains of humanity and eventually the noir man will surrender to his dark side and get a taste of the supreme evil incarnation of the super-cunt(no soft-core honey pie but hard-core spicy meat pie!) and then compulsively perish with it! lol.
