(de) wrote: Alright I'll be honest this movie is not for everyone. However if you are like horror/comedy and jokes movies like me then this is really good movie for you. Movie concept is unsual. Usually in horror movies Teens are chased by psychopath but in this movie teens are the psychopaths. Samara Weaving's role as Bee/babysit is excellent she is actually believable babysitter that we all would have fallen for when we were age of 12, and been equally as brokenhearted to find out she's actually a psychopathic killer. It seems that she is also having some kinds of feelings towards Cole (?). 9/10Judah Lewis's role as Cole is also excellent. It is really easy to relate to him. He is absent-minded but smart school nerd who falls in love to his babysit Bee. 9/10Emily Alyn's role as Melanie is really superb. She is supportive and kinda really good friend to Cole and she has secrectly crush on Cole. 9/10Other characters: - Hana Mae Lee as Sonya 8/10- Robbie Amell as Max 8/10- Bella Thorne as Allison 8/10- Andrew Bachelor Also known as KingBach from Vines as John 8/10- Leslie Bibb as Cole's mom 7/10- Ken Marino as Cole's dad 7/10Jokes are fun and edgy just it should be in these types of movies. Plot is also good. It is understandable and NOT PREDICTIBLE like some people claim it to be. Plot's build up is also pretty good and solid. Character chemistry shows in the movie. 8/10All in all this movie is good. Only disappointing thing was that other people just cant see really good horror/comedy anymore like I do but still it is their own opinion. This movie also has 80s classic horror flick vibe which is good. Reason why I give this movie 5/5 because my very low expectation but they surpassed easily. I could argue that this is McG's the best movie so far.Should I recommend this to someone? - Yes! I personally would recommend this movie for people who likes over stereotypical teens and jokes and horror. Would I watch it again? - Yes! It became one of my favorite Comedy/Horror flicks. If there is planned sequel or prequel I would defiantly be first in line to watch it. Solid 8/10 for me. Looking forward to sequel or prequel (if there is planned one)!
(ru) wrote: Wow, so this movie is so mediocre. It's not funny, it's not scary, and the story is really campy. This is a badly directed and written film. It could've been good, but the lack of direction made it below mediocre. The best part about the movie is the end-credits.
(jp) wrote: I wish I could give this movie negative stars. It was seriously one of the dumbest movies I have ever seen!
(au) wrote: Pretty entertaining movie for a Netflix original movie starring Bella Thorne, Robbie amell, and other random teenagers who are actually 20 years old. This isn't a good movie, it's a super cheesy movie from Netflix, Netflix will probably never have a really good movie, the only good movie from Netflix would be beasts from no nation or okja but this, no way . This movie is an another bad Netflix original movie.

(us) wrote: 'The Babysitter' is a Netflix Original Film, directed by McG (Charlie's Angels) and stars Bella Thorne, Samara Weaving, Robbie Amell, Hana Mae Lee, Andrew Bachelor, and Judah lewis. The unique horror comedy follows Cole (Judah Lewis) who must survive a night on the run when his babysitter Bee (Samara Weaving) turns out to be the leader of a murderous satanic cult. McG has directed a variety of different films in the past, this however seems to be his first delving into the horror/comedy genre and for the most part it works. It is a very quirky film and insanely odd in terms of the plot, characters, dialogue, and even the way the editing is handled. It flips the script on some cliche slasher elements but also embraces some of them, forming a story that is largely unpredictable. The pacing starts off quite slow but then once the main plot kicks in it is a lot of fun. Overall I feel this does well to please both fans of horror and comedy but at times can be too ridiculous for its own good. The film opens and then the unique style this film adopts hits you like a tonne of bricks. From the outset you notice there is something off about this world, the characters behave weirdly, the dialogue is a little campy, there are exaggerated sound effects over basic hand movements and all this combined with the slow pace of the opening can be overwhelming. The slow pace works for what it is trying to do, it is setting up the main players in the story and their relationships and injecting clever morsels of foreshadowing here and there but the quippy dialogue and campy humour feels out of place in what is at the time a relatively normal plot. But from the moment the extended cast are introduced it picks up the pace and becomes a fun and very eventful adventure that balances the horror and comedic elements well. From this point everything goes by so quickly you won't have time to be bored because it is a constant thrill ride and whether you are laughing or in fear for Cole it has you hooked. The humour comes through in the ridiculous behaviour of characters and the silly dialogue that outlines almost every scene and for the most part it works, and it works mainly because the delivery from the actors is spot on. As far as the characters go there isn't much complexity to their personality, they are one note and all have a unique persona that the actors all embrace. Judah lewis is good as Cole, he is a character who you root for and you feel even though he is the victim in this situation he fits in with the tone of the film. Samara Weaving is the biggest highlight pulling off the charming nature of her character but also her creepy and evil side. The rest of the satanic cult; Sonya (Bella Thorne), Max (Robbie Amell), Allison (Hana Mae Lee) and John (Andrew Bachelor) were all very entertaining in their own respects and the performances behind these characters were all unique and spot on. In a more grounded thriller these characters would not fit at all but in the silliness that is this movie you accept their presence and just enjoy the antics that ensue. But where much of the ridiculous moments do work I feel that there are moments where the campiness goes just a fraction too far, it isn't often but there are parts where even a suspension of disbelief can't help. So in the end this is a horror comedy that embraces both genres fairly equally with a slight emphasis on its campy and ridiculous nature. The opening act takes some time to execute some fantastic foreshadowing but can be overwhelming with the random and sudden occurrences of odd behaviour. But once the main plot kicks in there is much fun to be had with all of the characters to get you through this relatively short movie. One role I didn't talk about is the minor presence of Emily Alyn Lind (Revenge) as Melanie who unfortunately doesn't have a lot of screen time but I loved every one of her moments. If you catch this film at home with a group of friends this'll be a very fun time full of blood and comedy. 7/10

(br) wrote: A new kind of Final Girl. Stranger Things meets Buffy the Vampire Slayer, in this slasher. I love a horror that knows it's a horror, with added humour and classic clichs it has a graphic novel aesthetic (Scott Pilgrim vibes). Gore, traps, distraction tactics, scout boy resourcefulness and relentless murderers. What more could you want?
(ca) wrote: It's stupid, but funny.
(nl) wrote: I like how the horror trope is inverted were it's actually the teens doing the the murdering. I don't think that's ever been accomplished before.
(ag) wrote: I really loved this this film. The most remembered thing about this movie was the bond between Bee and Cole is amazingly done and unique when compared other films like this. I can clearly see that Cole is secretly crushing on Bee and it seems that Bee also have somekind of feelings towards Cole. Jokes are fun and edgy just like it should be in these movies. The only disappointing thing about this film was that ending. I was confused that filmakers literally throwed that Bee and Cole's character chemistry to trash but I guess it seems justifiable if there is follow-up sequel in works. I also hope that we could see sequel that continues where this film left of. This movie is worth watching in late nights especially on Halloween. Jokes are funny and edgy. If you like over-stereotyped teens then I absolutely recommend this. This movie combines dark comedy with good horror gore elements that takes opposite route compared other horror movies where teens are chased by psychotic kille but in this movie teens are the killers.Even though this was directed McG I think this is the best McG's directed movie so far so probs to him. This movie clearly surpassed my expectation.8/10 for me.
(ru) wrote: I enjoyed the movie. It isn't serious and it doesn't take itself seriously. It is gory but I enjoyed most of it. The humor was surprisingly the best part and I enjoyed seeing everyday faces.
(es) wrote: This thing was all over the place stylistically. Rather than creating anything original it just mashed together a fistful of other film's styles and called it good enough. Actually good for a few laughs in the first half, but all together a pretty poorly executed movie.
(es) wrote: It?s really a great thriller movie and I enjoyed it (Netflix have surprise me with this movie!)? DON?T BELIEVE THE CRITICS SCORE
(br) wrote: The movie is so trashy. You can tell that they waste all this money or making a scary movie. Just to be a clich of a scary movie. I don't recommend watching it. It's so dumb. If it was supposed to be a Comedy. It wasn't funny
