Michael T (de) wrote: I recently picked up Columbia Classics' WILLIAM CASTLE FILM COLLECTION DVD set and watched HOMICIDAL Last night. Following the release of PSYCHO (1960) filmakers rushed to jump on the bandwagon. Castle was already making genre films and was already known for his gimicks and promotions; this film included the "fright break" when patrons were told they could leave the theatre and get a full refund. No one did. The story is pretty straight forward, no better or worse than many of the other Hitchcock-inspired horror films coming out at the time. Castle's sense of fun and showmanship help raise this one a cut above its competition.
