Gus S (nl) wrote: The Casablanca of Loch Ness monster attack movies (you can guess this sub-genre has more than a horrible entries). Most movies dealing with a killer in the Loch try to be so scientific that they get boring and others cut right to the chase with something trite and ridiculous. Although there is absolutely no science to be found here, the plot is refreshingly original (as far as this type of movie is concerned). It seems that Nessies (here identified as plesiosaurs although they clearly aren't) inhabit the world??s oceans but move inland to lakes to lay their eggs, which hatch into vicious little monsters. The effects are surprisingly decent (except that the monster puppets used for close-ups look nothing like the CGI shots of the same animals) and the acting is above par for a b-movie, so it is fun all around. The glaring plot hole is that the sudden presence of these creatures is never explained. As soon as the young hatch, they move to land and start killing humans. If these animals have been around for millions of years (as the movie suggests) why has no one noticed them? Shouldn??t there be a lot of unexplained human deaths? And if the cryptozoologist has been hunting these creatures long enough to know their feeding patterns then why hasn't he ever gotten definitive proof? Must be a bad shot I guess.

Stevie S (br) wrote: What a badass movie! The cheesy special effects are outstanding! It doesn't get any better than a 70's B movie. Seriously. There's giant radscorpions, killer armored cockroaches, radioactive skies, and buckets of cheese! They may have put some money into this movie, but it looks insanely cheap! There's not much of a plot either. They're basically just cruising around in that beast of a truck picking up strays. Honestly though, you don't watch something like this for plot development! It's just quality trash and entertaining as hell!
