Sean B (mx) wrote: I saw Henry Fool, the prequel to Fay Grim, and wasn't really blown away, but liked the change of pace from mainstream movies. Fay Grim ends up being a bit more interesting, but a bit uneven both in filmmaking technique and plot. I was pretty annoyed at the wopperjawed camera angles (overdone) and the music at times was so intrusive it took me out of the movie. So far, I've never really warmed to Hal Hartley's films. I keep giving them a try and I see moments in each film, but they're strung together haphazardly and few and far between. Maybe his plays are better.

Only gets a (barely) passing grade because it was fun to listen to the former Disney star Gomez cursing up a storm and looking good while doing it.

Andrew L (mx) wrote: Too modern for my taste. I miss the late 80s/early 90s action flavor of the first three. But it's not a bad action movie. It's got some good stuff in it. I love how McClane rubs off on the young guy as a heroic figure by the end. That was the best part of the story. The action is very over the top, so don't expect to feel like McClane is very human.
