Amy H (au) wrote: Terrible story, terrible plot, terrible acting, terrible cutting, seriously don't bother about this movie, it's so terrible in everything.

Evan M (es) wrote: A visual spectacle but providing little more than impressive effects, 2012 is a cliche stockpile with absurd events and predictable turnouts with its immensely long run time.

Sweet G (au) wrote: it has a nice action but its kinda complicated and u need to 'imagine the end' cuz its not very clear...

Mark James A (it) wrote: ...a highly engaging and enjoyable animated feature.

Kiera M (kr) wrote: Open Hearts is a story that wrenches at the heart. Cecile (Sonja Richter) and Joachim (Nikolaj Lie Kaas) have just gotten engaged when tragedy strikes Joachim. This single event acts as the first domino in toppling over the lives of each of the main characters. The story that follows comes from acting on the desires we repress. I found the direction quite creative. In certain interactions between characters, the real interaction is intercut with grainy shots of what the characters actually wish to happen. And it shows how far separated we are from our desires and our actions. There's also this other clever thing that bookends the film-an infrared filter is used with a simple shot of people walking by. Since all the people are shown giving off this body heat, I took it as we all have it in us to love or to open up our hearts, even if it's for the wrong person. There is no truly dislikable character in the film. Even Niels (Mads Mikkelsen), the doctor who cheats on his wife with Sonja Richter's character, is somehow understandable. The moment the guilt of the affair sets in, Mikkelsen absolutely shines. He is incredibly talented, no doubt about it. Paprika Steen, Richter, and Kaas are also excellent and make it very easy for audiences to empathize. This is a very real film that peels back human behavior layer by layer. There's an admirable intimacy within low-tech films-everything feels... closer. So when all hell breaks loose, you feel it and it's hard to take. Great film-93%
