(ca) wrote: It's pretty narley, as is the first film. I thought Brian Austin Green could have been replaced with at least a half rate actor for that type of role, I just cant see him in that. Entertaining and full of gore, thats mainly what we expect from this type of thing. One thing this has an edge on lots of others, is the gore, its A+
(br) wrote: There have been many comedy crime movies over the years which have been driven by an on screen partnership. There is a standard and Cop Out doesn't meet it in any way. The story is shallow, the jokes are more miss than hit and for the most part are pretty childish. Bruce Willis just looked uncomfortable and Tracy Morgans character is one of the most annoying of all time, he's almost unbearable and really needs to tone it down. Cop Out is full of stereotypes and does nothing particularly well, I couldn't wait til the movie finished and its pretty much forgotten already.

(fr) wrote: The lone film I went out of my way to see at the Vancouver Film Festival, Great World of Sound is mocumentary about a money scam as told by two salesmen who are oblivious to the fact that it is a scam. What is the scam? A fake record company has open auditions to naive musicians in various smalltowns in the the south. The salesmen then ask the superstar hopefuls for a financial investment to show their "commitment" to making it. This commitment is in the 3000 dollar range. As funny as this film was, particularly Keene Holiday as Clarence, an incredibly enthusiastic and sheisty salesmen with a mean mout to boot, it takes a serious turn when Martin finally admits to himself what they're doing when taking an audition from the first talented, and very beautiful, hopeful they've met. When it's all said and done, this movie is about taking one last shot at that dream of being someone, and then realizing it will never happen.
(kr) wrote: This film hardly painted the best picture of men or women but the director has clearly been shafted by some utterly psychotic ladies if this is anything to go by! Really enjoyed the filming, locations, Bernal was great (as always) but I personally didn't like the direction they took it in...too intense and strange. It also had a little too much nudity but that's to be expected from South American films, I guess!

(kr) wrote: At first I doubted that I'll enjoy this movie very much, but as it went on the movie kept on getting better and better. It's about an evil spirit trapped in a prison after his execution that wanted revenge. I loved the elements of horror in this and the deaths very quite constructive too. Barbed wire one was my favourite. Overall a pretty intense horror flick with a variety of characters and lots of deaths. Though I was quite confused about the connection between Viggo Mortensen's character to the evil spirit.
