Silvestre S (gb) wrote: While the movie fails badly to be actually a modern social commentary and is mostly brought down by the "i want my candy bar" girl, some useless characters and some complete social stereotype characters it includes what anarchy had embraced by finding what type of movies they are,its thrills and gore, and entertaining twists and turns to be considered a good time even if it may be a little disposable
Eric S (de) wrote: This movie tries so hard to be funny and fun, but it's really neither one. Zach Galifianakis is the only good part of this movie, really, which is horrible because I love Ving Rhames and Rob Corddry and Emilie De Ravin and Adam Scott. The writing was just horrid. I tried to hard to like it...

Radek C (gb) wrote: What seems a teenage movie at first, turns into something a little more serious when problems of one's own sexuality and acceptance are brought upon. Nice acting in overall plus I loved Emmy Rossum's deep voice while acting emotional scenes.

Aj V (fr) wrote: The epitome of corny, campy, cheesy or whatever you want to call it, it's horrible. The story is stupid and the ending is pointless as is most of the movie. The acting and dialogue are bad as well.
Eric R (ca) wrote: Written on the Wind centers around the Hadley Family, an extremely wealthy oil tycoon's family whose children are full of debauchery. The film centers around Mitch, a geologist who works for the company but begins to grow tired of them after the family's acoholic son, Kyle, steals Lucy, an advertising executive, away form Mitch and ends up marrying her. This film 's theme of "Money doesn't buy happiness" is worn on its sleeve. The various characters are almost entirely self-loathing and unhappy. Being a Douglas Sirk film its visually gorgeous and a melodrama to the core. The film plays out almost like a greek tragedy as characters misery and jealousy among each other leads to tragedy and despair. It's a great cast with Rock Hudson (Mitch) and Lauren Bacall (Lucy) leading the way. Dorothy Malone does stand out as Maylee, the nyphomatic daughter in the Hadley family who has always and still is in love with Mitch. All this being said, it's a good film but I don't think it lives up to Sirk's best work.
