Kashyap's brilliant direction, and Koechlin's superb performance will be talked about. Despite a few tedious drawn out scenes, stunning cameo roles make the film a gritty, stark experience.

And everything is bad about Live Feed. 30 minutes of a bad porn movie turned into an hour of the lamest soundtrack, special effects and acting. It was so bad i don't even have words to describe it. So, my final advice is: don't watch it.

Jump to many years later with a mother reporting on assignment from London, almost on the exact location and with her brought her daughter with her who is somehow the center of this cult that happened at the beginning and the rest of the film dwells on this concept with more revelations to come. Director Brian Yuzna(The Re- Animator, The Beyond) attempts at Lucio Fulci in terms of dubbing and stye and tone which consists of an intersting idea but as a result quite amaterish and predictable, leaving many plotholes as film progresses leaving questions unanswered! 2 out of 4

(mx) wrote: Here's a film entirely made by it's third act. The setup is good. Bronson is good. There's a good supporting cast, especially Gavan O'Herlihy, best known as the vanishing Chuck Cunningham from "Happy Days", who is balls-out wonderful as the main villain with his crazy inverse mohawk and even crazier eyes. The middle act is kind of dull ... the film treads water for a while ... but the third act is pure insanity of the best kind. I can't swear I completely understand why all hell breaks loose in the climax, but with Bronson wielding military weapons against a ghetto full of bikers and cartoon gang members, I don't really care why it's happening ... it's all good.

Yet such a glorious epic. You can really see how much of a film maker Kurosawa grew when compared to his earlier works such as the lighter Hidden Fortress. With RAN Kurosawa utilized color in a way that mastered the medium, impressive given his large filmography in black & white. From his sweeping vistas of green to the shocking reds of his bloods. RAN is both a feast for the eyes as well as the mind. It's a perfect example of what could be achieved with hundreds of extras that CGI of today's movies can never quite capture the same impact of.Though the movie moves at a somewhat glacial pace, you are never bored with its proceedings. Every word of dialog reveals the sweeping plot of the unfolding tragedy. You owe it to yourself to watch this at least once in your life.

Now, i'm no Rossellini expert, but I bet "Open City" is far better than this amateurish, cold exercise, which lacks poetry and doesn't flow easily, although it's touching and unique the whole time. This feeling of news cast from all over Italy, like a recollection of stories from around the country during the time is exciting and very special, but failed to make it a great movie in my opinion.
