Alysia V (au) wrote: A bit of a mix between "Be Kind, Rewind" and "Garden State", at least in my opinion. Somewhat shy, low key guy meets crazy, quirky girl and they fall in love. Lucy Liu's character did remind me a bit of Natalie Portman's in "Garden State", which is why I referred it to that. And the bit about acting out scenes from your favorite movies and owning an independent little video store part reminded me of "Be Kind, Rewind." I didn't necessarily believe the chemistry between Cillian and Lucy but I did enjoy them both in their roles and thought they both pulled them off well. "Violet" was a little over the top, at times, though and did tend to annoy me from time to time. I'm all about being offbeat and quirky, but she was a little much. It was nice to see Cillian Murphy in something much more light-hearted than we normally see him in. It's nice seeing actors with versatility like that. There were a lot of nerdy film references that I loved and that really made this movie for me. I think I enjoyed the first half of this film more than the second, but overall, a fun, offbeat film.

Wesley M (it) wrote: Better than I was expecting. Bale was given some semi-retarded cheesy lines to say during the first 1/4th of the film which had me in fear of another overrated p-o-s. I was worried that the scene where 1 of the pilots was heckling the survival training video was going to be the high point of the entire movie but it improved later on. 90% is still overrated but the audience 74% is closer to the mark.

Jesse W (ag) wrote: With flowing animation, breathtaking visuals, amazing voice acting, and a story that will hypnotize you, How To Train Your Dragon is my favorite animated movie of the 21st century. It is different from the book in almost every conceivable way, but it's far better. I read the series as a child, and I can honestly say this movie is superior to its novel counterpart.
