Some pretty cools set pieces like worms blasting out of a guys heads after he ate a slug in a salad & some girl getting devoured naked after the slugs interrupt her fucking. Those killer slugs must be destroyed so basically they make up a concoction to burn the slugs & blow up a majority of the town via the sewers in the process. You would figure that everybody's toilet would explode. Why they didn't just dump salt on everything is beyond me..If you like atomic animal movies from the 50s there's no reason why you shouldn't like a nuclear slug movie from the 80s

viktor g (ru) wrote: Not a very inspired film. The director fails to create the suspense that this film tries to give. There are many good anguishing moments, but the result is quite seedy. And very predictable ending.

Lewis E (ag) wrote: Flipping the script and placing vampires as the dominant species was a creative concept. 'Daybreakers' introduces this futuristic sci-fi horror setting very well, appearing original despite the abundance of vampire movies in the last decade. However, it fails to build upon the originality any further by reverting to generic, straight-forward plot details the rest of the way through. Even with the OTT gore, there was a general failure to deliver entertaining conflict, of both the physical and moral kind, while in addition a lot of characters and their relationships lacked emotional conviction, especially the father/daughter plot with the villain. The idea was solid and it was good how they depicted vampires displaying human tendencies to balance their blood-sucking urges. Nonetheless, 'Daybreakers' was going to struggle to survive on a narrative which started to deteriorate more quickly than vampires in sunlight.

What a mess, Maximum Overdrive is. The storyline is terrible and beyond stupid. The movie is a good watch. Good pacing, even if 90% of the film takes place in the same spot. You get a good deal of character development with the main characters. It's not really a horror film, but it can get graphic at times. Not quite like the film cover shows. The whole film's score is by AC/DC, I have no clue why but it's all good, it's fitting. The film was seemingly intended to be part violent and graphic and part fun and just an overall good watch. It's not meant to be super crazy like his other films which are generally all horror.

Michael W (es) wrote: Family makes an ill-conceived attempt at kidnapping and justice after their child is killed with the most likely suspect being released by police due to lack of evidence. A disaster for all concerned. Worth a look; sensationalist British thriller proves criminal activity should best be left to criminals.
