Sayer F (nl) wrote: Honestly this movie contains some of the best and original cinematography in recent years. The movie drips with style and symbolism. While the script is a bit weak in some parts, the movie is allegorical, disturbing and rewatchable. Almost lost faith in Refn after only god forgives but this is almost a masterpiece. Really is a showcase of what film can offer.

Dylan D (nl) wrote: Blades of Glory definitely has its funny moments, and Will Ferrell fans will eat this one up. The movie is somewhat raunchy and potty-mouthed, but never in excess, hence the PG-13 rating. Classed in a genre that, for me, has headed south over the past decade, Blades of Glory managed to prove just entertaining enough to hold my interest and keep me reasonably entertained, even if I only found myself laughing uncontrollably once or twice and barely emoting a smile the rest of the way. Ferrell and Heder have a wonderful chemistry and can pull off hating one another just a well as they can pull off being best friends and teammates.
Michelle G (de) wrote: It was okay. But I thought the guy was ridiculous. I was somewhat mad cause he had a family and a wife, and why would he choose to do something about it when he's this old. But I do give Tom Wilkinson credit for playing this role.

John D (au) wrote: Bogey had certainly hit his stride by this time, so it's hard to believe he wouldn't be an A-list leading man for a few more years. I think he's a joy to watch in this film, more so than Davis, who seems a little bit hammy at times and perhaps a little too classy for a call girl.

Petros T (de) wrote: "Johnny English" is a hysterically funny, prototypical spy film spoof. The titular hero is monumentally, no-holds-barred daft and that results in countless hilariously awkward situations. Rowan Atkinson is just perfect for the role and is surrounded by a very fitting cast. Overall "Johnny English" is very enjoyable and its more than fair share of iconic moments makes up for the occasional misstep.
Clintus M (it) wrote: This film blew away my expectations. Part of the appeal is admittedly its 70s "vibe." I mean, who today would use the term "mama" in this hip, sexy context? And no, neither woman appears to be a mother either. This is a mix-up of women behind bars, blaxsploitation, and the racial element from The Defiant Ones. Yet, it's even more than, and highly entertaining as well. This movie features two great female leads, both determined to overcome long odds as well as each other. It's also got four competing groups: corrupt politicians, leftist revolutionaries, thuggish bandits, and some sort of Pilipino mafia. Believe it or not. A plausible case could even be made that this is a political film, but that's just a 70s element thrown in for drama.Of course, there's a women's prison lesbian element and an element of women being abused by criminals and the system too. It is an exploitation flick at heart. As others have claimed, this isn't Pam Grier's best work, but watch it for pure fun anyway.
