Bit part, but I wanted to see the film to see how they did it you know? The movie is a pretty straight movie version of the stage. The cast is decent, but the songs here are what makes the movie. It's always funny after nearly twenty years I can still remember almost every song and whenever I see this on TV I have to watch and sing a long.Steiger is really creepy in this.
Mary H (es) wrote: Plot holes are bad. Shameless stereotyping of lesbians, Asian-Americans and the mentally challenged is worse. But low-hanging comedy fruit? That's the worst. Seems like the kind of movie I would have loved as a 14-year-old, ("Ugh, people in organized religion are the worst!" "I just want to get out of this town!" "Adults are creepers and hypocrites!") but as an adult, I'd rather watch a quirky comedy that has at least some affection for its subjects. In short, it makes me want to re-watch Bernie.

Kent B (au) wrote: Greatest worst super hero movie ever made. It's so funny and terrible in every aspect from dialogue to the whimsical soundtrack of females grunting. I've watched this movie so many times and it never gets old. Hopefully we get more of the same with the new Barbie film. The new Ghostbusters is nearly as good especially with the plot holes as well.

Wayne M (kr) wrote: This quiet and strangely beautiful film was originally released as two films. A Him and a Her. Both containing different perspectives from husband and wife. I haven't seen either but I have seen the 'combined' version which is Them. It's concerned with the broken down marriage of Eleanor and Conor. We come in after the fact and see both of them trying to pick up the pieces of their lives. We eventually find out a tragic event has pulled them apart. We never exactly know what it is and that maybe slightly frustrating to some. But I believe this film is more about how we handle separation and tragedy. How the human spirit survives through adversity. In that matter it succeeds quite well. It is a slow moving exploration through the heart of love. The main strength is the exquisite acting. James McAvoy is very good and Jessica Chastain is stunning as she usually is. This is a very sad film, it takes its time and if you go with its flow I think you will find it very rewarding.
