Kevin J (kr) wrote: Possibly one of the most emotionally moving films I have ever seen, this one actually got to me a good bit. Kevin Bacon is phenomenal in the lead role and the writing is really strong. This one is just as long as it needs to be, which I really appreciate. They didn't add a bunch of extra fluff to make it longer, because the story needed nothing else to be added to it. Based on a true story, the emotional impact of this one is certainly bolstered by it and really does a great job portraying all that surrounds the death of a soldier and their journey home. A somber film from beginning to end, it does not just tackle the issue of burial, but also of regret, both from those at home and abroad during war. One of the more compelling "war" films I have seen in recent times, Taking Chance is criminally underseen.

Alailson B (br) wrote: Sofre por seus personagens quase todos falarem na mesma voz, mas ainda assim Ellen Page tem grande atuao e, ao lado de Jennifer Garner, garante um belo filme.

Suanne C (it) wrote: Loved the costumes, and the atmosphere is almost convincing as futuristic, but not quite. It's confusing at times, and there's an strong sense of hopelessness which you don't often experience with western films. Ji-tae Yu, mmmmm.

Elise P (it) wrote: This is a strange and darkly funny movie about Harvey Pekar (Paul Giamatti, Sideways) a miserable guy who writes a comic book about his life. The film is strange and it switches between the fictionalised story and excerpts of the real Harvey Pekar and other real life characters from the comic book. It can be a bit dull and miserable at times which is the subject matter, but it is also quirky and funny. Overall an interesting watch especially for those interested in the underground comic book scene.

Daisy B (ru) wrote: Beautifully told, handsomely filmed, and magnificently mounted story of W.A.Mozart and the Fan-From-Hell who stalks him with the intent of killing him. Seen through Salieri's jealous eyes, Mozart seems to be some sort of unholy angel unworthy of his own brilliance. A chilling retelling of one of music's oldest legends. Personal footnote...Jeffery Jones all but steals the show from Abraham and Hulce, which is no mean feat.

nefnie l (kr) wrote: Claude Rains can definitely hold his own with Bette Davis. Davis' performance seems to forshadow her excellent work in Whatever Happened to Baby Jane.

Dale W (it) wrote: "Midway emulates The Longest Day and Tora! Tora! Tora! in attempting to re-create a famous World War II battle from both the American and Japanese viewpoints."RIDICULOUS! The Japanese were not even in THE LONGEST DAY. Our opponent in the D-Day invasion of Normandy was the German Wehrmacht. How could you make a mistake that large? You were on the wrong side of the world!

Taylor N (kr) wrote: Really enjoyed this one. Orson Welles was so creative and his movies are smart--they feel literary. It seems like he didn't give a damn, as if he did whatever he found interesting with little worry as to how the movie was received.

Alfredo G (kr) wrote: A prime example of Segal in his hey-day.
