Jacob B (br) wrote: Hacksaw Ridge is an inspiring film which teaches audiences about remaining true to your convictions. Andrew Garfield is unforgettable in the role of Desmond Doss and Mel Gibson does an amazing job at directing this film. During the sequences where the American soldiers are at war with the Japanese during the Battle Of Okinawa, you practically feel like you're about to cry when seeing the cost on humans war has. Kinda like the Netflix movie Beasts of No Nation in some respects. Every time, your heart pounds as you want Doss to save as many soldiers as he can even saving some wounded Japanese soldiers. This demonstrates that wanting to be a medic shouldn't be limited to only select races. Everyone deserves a second chance in life even if they were monsters. So, what's the short version of my review on Hacksaw Ridge? Answer: A solidly acted and well-made film which does a great job of focusing on religious themes, predominantly the sixth commandment: "Thou shalt not kill".

Peter F (us) wrote: Well what do you know? There's another recent film besides The Artist that convincingly takes on the guise of a silent film. This Spanish film is a sometimes-clever retelling of Snowwhite and the Seven Dwarves, that also manages to do it without using supernatural elements. It's often pretty, but the film's attempt to get in all of the plot points from The Brothers Grimm tale can be a bit awkward at times. A real heart-breaker of an ending though.

Josh B (nl) wrote: While a couple of the jokes worked, they were too far and few between to come close to making this movie enjoyable. While no where near the worst performance from Adam Sandler, he doesn't do anything to do anything to save the film from being boring at best and torturous at worst.

Eva G (kr) wrote: Over the top and mighty bad, but considering I saw Mega Snake before this I gotta say it seemed almost good. The plot is insane, and the actors seem bored most of the time. But they somehow managed to cast David Hewlett as an action star, so that's something. The snake aren't really fetured as much as you'd think...

Noname (au) wrote: Nice movie with Denzel. Story is about his child that needs hospital help and he and his wife can't afford it. So he try another solution.. Drama movie with a bit action later on.

The Critic (kr) wrote: This visually brilliant sci-fi anime isn't as engrossing as it should be with a plot that has strong hints of 'The Terminator' (1984) and '2001: A Space Odyssey' (1968).

Misty Adana B (es) wrote: Just saw this and was thrilled. It's 80s style compared to other decades of the genre was fascinating. No less predictable than other movies and it had its own surprises. Really appreciated the subplot of the racist attitudes of the people of that small to wn and the Sheriff's words that the black man makes a "perfect scapegoat....he's black". This lets the viewer understand that the law knew he was innocent. A common occurrence in American justice. More people need to now this.
