Markus M (us) wrote: As if disease and sickness permeated the film itself, Brandon Cronenberg's directorial debut almost seems to radiate both off the screen and onto the viewer, making for an uncomfortably tense but powerful film, even if the cynic in me says that the film loses momentum around the halfway point before the end saves it, and that it could've tapped more into the satirical potential of its down-right brilliant concept with its themes of celebrity, celebrity worship and the loss of identity that results from it.8/10

David A (gb) wrote: More interesting than most because of the backstory of the lead character but it's still plagued by a mediocre script, a bad performance from josh duhamel, and over dramatic at times like many romances, Safe haven still would've been a decent romance if it wasn't for its stupid twist ending that doesn't make sense

George P (it) wrote: A very well-conceived, well-played, clever idea for a film. It's like a Fanboys movie for fans of Lord of the Rings, online gaming, and best of all: it's family-friendly!Packed with fun characters, witty and clever parallels to the Peter Jackson films, and an overall concept that both acknowledges and honors the fandom of gaming, Rise of the Fellowship is a movie for geeks by geeks!

Frode M (ag) wrote: Hmmmmm! Loved the end! Both Richard and Angie are beautyful, and does a great job. The cast is good and the plot is NOT obvious, but great! You get a feeling of a bad movie, spiced with rated scenes and this part could have been better.

Gabriel I (ag) wrote: Clearly inspired by David Fincher's "Zodiac" this is a well-shot follow up to the 1976 film. It's main problem lies in it's cheesy ending in my opinion. But, this film has some moments of greatness, and is worth a watch for any horror or thriller fans.

Nico S (fr) wrote: The premise is somewhat original, it's the execution of it that's really good. The chemistry between all the main characters in the movie is very good too they all really work well together. Honestly you can't go wrong with Will Farrel as the crazy energetic one of the bunch. Not too many laugh out loud moments but the whole situation is pretty comedic.

This was one of the first outings for Sam Neill, who was a hottie, and Judy Davis became a great. It's a hoot, a little sad in its denouement but in general something you'll probably never forget. I love seeing that the critics were unanimous in its praises, although I usually set much more store by the audience reaction. Obviously, as seen in the audience reaction here, it isn't as well loved or perhaps well understood in general but if you tend to be literary, then it is likely for you.
