Buggy B (ca) wrote: This had me in tears within the first minute and I wasn't sure I'd be able to watch it all as I sat cuddled up with my giant dog and a cat. Really well done, the utter frustration and sadness. You get all sides of this nightmare, the original owners, the new owners, the dog rescuers, the dogs themselves. Focuses on about 4 Katrina victims trying for years to get their dogs back. A couple happy endings. If nothing else I hope Katrina changes evacuation policies in the future, this can never be allowed to happen again.01/13(2)

Glenn S (kr) wrote: The movie was boring and slow to get rolling... The conversations in the beginning with the NJ accents were a little over-played. The death of Frankie's daughter was under-played. The music was ok depending on what speakers you have on your TV but some of the songs were extremely nasal and sounded like Alvin and The Chipmunks - I was disappointed.

Peter J (br) wrote: Slow-paced but powerful drama about a Muslim car mechanic's fight against the intolerant leadership of his sect, and a thought-provoking tribute to the legacy of Mahatma Gandhi.

Ben R (de) wrote: Good cheesy 80s Horror that knows what it is and doesn't take itself too seriously. I mean come on.....Slugs? Really? Who honestly thought this was going to be a serious horror? For the time this came out, this was like something alttle different to offset the slasher craze that was slowly dying by 1987. The acting is somewhat comical and alittle too winking at the camera for its own good but it wasn't half bad. The effects are very serviceable for the budget, and I didn't hate any of the characters. This is a great addition to any cheesy 80s horror collection....so if you've waited all these years and always passed this by at your local blockbuster or mom and pop video store, give it a shot on netflix.

Leigh R (nl) wrote: Not what I was expecting to see. It was drama with a sweet side rather than a romantic comedy. It was alright to see once but wouldn't try to see it again.

Itamar K (it) wrote: An interesting and well-written early theatrical piece by Mike Leigh, and a great chance to see Tim Roth, Alfred Molina and Gary Oldman in fantastic early roles. Great for lovers of British cinema and Mike Leigh fans.

Anton B (de) wrote: At times, "Shaft in Africa" is about serious racial protest and empowerment. Other times, it enacts a sort of African-American fantasy, with John Shaft traveling the world like a black James Bond, stopping modern day slavery. Most of the time, though, the movie just shows Shaft scuffling, skirmishing, chasing and being chased, as well as, of course, bedding plenty of women. In the past, when black leads were rare, seeing a Shaft movie must have been invigorating. Nowadays, the pronounced emphasis on race seems a little bizarre.

Adam P (gb) wrote: It's filled with beautiful, well, images... and it's a surreal representation of a mental breakdown from when Robert Altman was at his most free-flowing and expressive. I love the eerie score, fantastical setting and playful but nightmarish tone. David Lynch fans should take definite note.

Greg W (de) wrote: For much of its brisk running time, The Woman in the Window plays like another balls-to-the-wall gem from the rarely-less-than-masterful Fritz Lang.

Jenna I (es) wrote: Interesting doc on an interesting subject. I like her work, she does deserve to be known. I do think the pacing and structure of the doc is uneven though. Too dramatic for a story that's fairly straight forward after the initial wondering if who she is.

David M (nl) wrote: I can't justify this is a great movie, but I always enjoy it when it plays on TV, which is good enough for me. The satisfaction you get at the end of this movie after so much frustration is great.

Madison O (fr) wrote: This is by far my favorite cartoon movie ever. I think I know pretty much every line. LOLS.

Luciano G (kr) wrote: I have not seen this movie since guess 1987....and when I saw it yesterday, I felt good again....."Born Free" is a tale of courage and love, nature and human nature, and a relationship unlike any other that you've ever seen.....hugely popular when released, the film still has the power to move....a great feel-good movie for the whole family...
