Hans J E (ag) wrote: Aki Kaurismaki is one strange cookie, but then again isn't that exactly what makes him stick out as a director? Okay, I've only seen three of his films so far, but I am starting to see a pattern of strangeness :)

Private U (mx) wrote: This is such a SLOW movie. I suppose it was exciting at the time, but I found it to be pretty boring.

Ed H (es) wrote: Poor acting, Unoriginal story, poor character developement means the viewer doesn't care what's happening to them.well enough shot and a good bit of light, family friendly entertainment.

Lee S (kr) wrote: Watched this a lot as a kid. Always remembered 'Spatula City'!

Daniel M (ag) wrote: These kind of movies do not have to be horribly painful. They do not have to suck. The writers do not seem to know how to make a parody work. The humor here is so abysmally bleak and stupid, there is no joy to be found at all.

RJohn X (gb) wrote: Clocking in at a sleek 80 minutes, this one has all the Corman essentials. Car explosions, house explosions, boat explosions, burning water, topless women, and very long armed horny mutant sea creatures created by the evil corporate cannery. Vic Morrow swills beer, terrorizes a Native American hippy and saves two kids from the foam monsters (which is sort of touching considering how he would die soon after). A very bad carnival is ruined by the boardwalk smashing humanoids. And Dr. Susan Drake goes on explorations in a very impractical bathing suit. Plus DOUG MCCLURE who you might remember from such movies as WARLORDS OF THE DEEP or AT THE EARTH'S CORE as well as televisions SIMON AND SIMON or THE FALL GUY! Some passable gore but most notable for the use of a ventriloquist dummy as foreplay device. GROSS.
