Janis A (kr) wrote: The story may not be the most innovative, but the directing is young and fresh, the actors are convincing, even if the ladies are best when they are dancing ( especially Karisma), but it is SRK again, who wins the show, even if he has to share symphaties with his co-stars. Lovely performance by Bollywoods Film-diva of the 90s, Madhuri Dixit. The songs are very catchy, but the choreographies steal the show. Excellent dancing scenes, which is also one reason why DTPH is more a Musical than an average Bollywood movie

Her life is hard, but she meets some unique men, former railroad workers, which can help her survive on the path that she has chosen. However, living off the land by robbing, sex, and other illegal activities can be tough in the south... "Don't believe anything you hear from a cop...even if it sounds good." Martin Scorsese, director Taxi Driver, Casino, Good Fellas, Raging Bull, Cape Fear, The Departed, Shutter Island, and Gangs of New York, delivers Boxcar Bertha. The storyline for this picture is very compelling and well paced. Scorsese does a good job of presenting each character and keeping the plot unpredictable. The end concludes the picture perfectly. The cast delivers solid performances and includes Barbara Hershey, David Carradine, John Carradine, Barry Primus, Harry Northup, and Bernie Casey. "What's happening out there? Are we getting robbed?" "Why, do you have something to rob?" Boxcar Bertha is a film I grabbed for my wife this past Valentine's Day. We're both grindhouse fans and I saw Scorsese's name attached to this movie about a female rebel and had to see it. I adored this picture and thought it was brilliant in terms of how the crimes were executed and the characters were presented. I strongly recommend seeing this if you're a fan of Scorsese. A real weepy but a top film, a solid Christmas Classic.

Although there is a lac of appearance of the robot aliens from Venus in my opinion. And, the special effects that there is is cheesy but still cool robots. Recommended.
Maggie n (jp) wrote: It's a pretty good movie--one of those intense dramas that goes the way they usually do. She's a woman with issues and her addiction started because of one reason, which is not like real life, so it doesn't get to the core of what addiction or self abuse is about. But it's a decent movie for what it is. Also if that person down there thinks Maggie Gyllenhaal has pancake boobs, he's either never seen great tits or never seen real pancake boobs. Either way--boobs have not been seen by this person.
