Dave J (gb) wrote: The plot may sound simplistic and just another Hollywood excuse to use sex to sell a movie, but it is nothing like that. The realm of sexual release with disabled people is real enough and this breaches the topic, but is also much more. The heart of it is the emotions the few women in his life feel for him and what he feels for them. The cast handles the unique story perfectly and make it real and its relationships thought provoking and meaningful.

Bob R (jp) wrote: Possibly one of the campiest movies I've ever seen. Definitely watchable, but for all the wrong reasons. Silly sorcery, Linda Blair and her giant hair, Fran Drescher, and cat-fights between cousins are some of the things that make this early Wes Craven thriller hilarious.

Alec B (br) wrote: Its predictable, but that may be the result of the fact that this kind of decade sprawling melodrama is a lot more common nowadays. You can see the seeds of the type of visual brilliance that David Lean was known for pop up occasionally here and there and Cowards dialogue is always enjoyable.
