(es) wrote: I'll start by saying: This is the best film I've ever seen! I think if you summon up Seidl, Haneke, Korine and Trier the result is Lanthimos. I'm speechless. Suddenly I remember why films like this has to be made. I love what there's no rules. When there's not necessary a need for understanding and no fixed answers given. It's a film you shouldn't even write an review about. It peels of every false layer of the human being and at deepest question the modern humanity. What have we become. It says to us: think outside the box. Live, without limitations. Embrace, even the madness. Life is a play. Now when this is said I must also compliment how beautifully it's filmed and edited. The scene with the barking dogs, which abruptly breaks into silence and into the tragic family constellation. It's finest art. And I laughed loudly, and my heart beating so fast. I was falling in love. I love this film, just as much as I love for example Elfrede Jelinek's texts. I love this film so much it hurts. I have no more words.

(it) wrote: A chilling documentary about the propaganda war leading up to and in the Iraq War by the Bush administration and the Al-Jazeera journalist that gave his life so that the other sides story could be heard. A documentary that only leads to many disturbing conclusions about how the war was sold to the American people. Interesting side note, Lieutenant Josh Rushing, seen in this documentary who often portrays Al-Jazeera as showing the wrong side of the story, resigned his position with the U.S. Marine Corps and now works for Al-Jazeera.

(kr) wrote: A late 90's slasher flick with a us soldier rising from the grave to kill anyone who belittles america. Now thats not actually a bad premise for a slasher flick well ok its pretty rubbish but there's potential for some fun. Which in small doses there is some here its just it takes way to long to get there. the guy doesn't return for 40mins!! So your just sat around watching some small kid grieving for his uncle and moan about wanting to join the army when he's older. Some of the klls are pretty good but u dont get to see any of the real decent carnage.Shame could have been a good laugh but the makers didnt have the talent to pull it off.

(ag) wrote: The cult following for this film is actually pretty insane; it's a bad Adam Sandler comedy minus Adam Sandler. By most standards this film is awful but it can be funny. Allen Covert is in my top 5 of worst actors but I can't help but watch this movie over and over.

(de) wrote: Another decent Star Trek film. This movie is unable to top Wrath of Khan or The Voyage home, but it's still a fine send-off to the original Star Trek crew.
(gb) wrote: Not a bad rom-com, where (thankfully) De Niro is not the love interest - he's a senior-citizen intern trying to fit into the new world (after 40 years in the phonebook business!) Hathaway's good as the tech-entrepreneur who's pulled in a thousand directions, and his sage advice help her. That's pretty much the plot. Not hilarious, but some fun and funny moments, especially with Devine & Pearlman. Russo is wasted and I'm not sure the ending is suitable.
(nl) wrote: AKA Outback; This is one of those "horror" movies where a nave, possibly too cocky, protagonist gets in over his head. In this case, John Grant (played rather stiffly by Gary Bond) gets stuck in the Australian country town of Bundanyabba (called "The Yabba" for short) where everyone's yer mate and happy to buy you a pot or a schooner. In fact, after Chips Rafferty introduces him to the local haunts, Grant finds himself on a non-stop treadmill of booze, gambling, proffered sex, and then drunken kangaroo hunting (with gruesome real footage). As a viewer, you are as off-guard as Grant, not knowing whether these raucous Aussie blokes are up to no good or not. Donald Pleasance adds to the sense of unease as a former outsider who has now given up everything for the delirium that pervades the Yabba. Can Grant actually escape alive before he too succumbs to the wasted life? The dusty outback looks great and there's an Aussie authenticity here that might just scare you off from travelling outside the major metropolises.
