Sierra S (de) wrote: I think this is the absolute most greatest movie I have ever seen. I have a love and passion for horses and this movie goes to prove that they are loyal, majestic and intelligent creatures that will truly inspire those around them. It couldn't be more true. It definitely gets a lump in your throat from how badly some people treat these beautiful animals. But also lifts your spirits with the bond between Albert and Joey. I hope one day I will find a horse that I could share such a strong bond with. His is the perfect movie for any horse lover.

Paul E (de) wrote: The viewer is given two main themes: 1. the complex cultural transition from life in a Cambodian village to New York City as seen through the eyes of a teenage boy. 2. the talent, dedication, hard work and years of training that are required to become a classical ballet soloist in an internationally recognized company. For those who love ballet, DAB provides fresh and vibrant footage of a young soloist in training across a ten year period. If ballet is not your thing, it does still provide a great context in which to show that hard work and focus are required to achieve the highest level of excellence. The film also looks incredible. It has an uncharacteristically finished and delicate varnish that only the most expensive summer hits can sometimes provide. Well paced, carefully scored and richly toned, it is unexpectedly beautiful to look at. The quality of the footage is uneven. Home movies have been adapted into the film. In exchange, there is no feeling of self-consciousness that would have otherwise been unavoidable if the young dancer's every move was chronicled from the day he arrived in NY.

Steve S (ca) wrote: a dramatic film with some good performances from jeremy sisto and kristin chenowith, but ultimately it was a boring and unenthusiastic movie that had no lasting impression at all. it was really interesting to see brian baumgartner outside of "the office", and without the kevin style talking, but that's about it.

Josh G (au) wrote: I gotta say -- following Jim Emerson's glowing review, I'm pretty eager to see this movie.

Mikael K (us) wrote: Here's a film that's got great actors, a brilliantly visionary director and an extremely interesting subject of exploring the love between a western woman and a Middle-Eastern man with a traditionally patriarcal upbringing. This would be a completely ingenious film if the dialog wouldn't be completely in rhymes. A curious addition to the movie, but one that really put me off. I must say that everything else works perfectly though, and I absolutely think that ??Yes?? is a movie worth seeing because of the themes, ideas and corageous originality.
