Daniel P (us) wrote: This film is one of the best interpretations of Marie-Antoinette and the French Revolution ever conceived, in my opinion. The cast portrayed each character with dignity and elegance. The only small detail I found somewhat off-putting was both the ages of the king and queen. Diane Kruger played Marie-Antoinette beautifully but I felt she was a bit too old, but other than that, the film was masterfully crafted and cinematically full talent.

Kelsey H (kr) wrote: I love how we just rented it and watched it without knowing at all what it was about. It was kind of funny though, except Crispin Glover was overly good so he creeped me out more than entertained me because I kept thinking he'd leapt into his Charlie's Angels bad-creepy-guy shtick. Interesting though.

Private U (ca) wrote: I thought it was wonderful. The connection formed between Adrian and John by the end was awesome, especially since they hadn't seen each other in 18 years. I loved the staged scenes at the end of the film. They made me laugh out loud because it was just so touching that father and son were having fun together. It really adds to everything that Adrian is gorgeous.

Lansden S (ru) wrote: This is the movie that turned Billy Bob Thornton from a good actor to a great actor.Thornton stars as a character named Karl Childers, a shy, lonely, retarded man who has been in a mental hospital most of his lie for killing his mother and her lover. After being released he quickly finds a job as a mechanic for lawn mowers and befriends a 12 year old boy Frank. Frank and Karl instantly hit it off and after some time Karl moves in and lives in Frank and his mothers garage. Karl soon learns about Franks mothers abusive boyfriend. "Doyle", is a drunk construction worker who doesn't tolerate anyone but himself. Early on in the movie Frank tells his mother that he loves Karl and even quotes "I love the way he talks". And thats what you get when you watch the movie. He is one of the more unforgettable characters in recent memory. Not only is it his voice, there is something about his demeanor and the way he walks. He is a simple kind man at heart.Thornton does an excellent job of not only playing the character but also directing and writing the movie. There are some shots in the movie that are breathtaking and riveting. In some ways i wish there were more people like Karl Childers in the world.

Quigles Q (gb) wrote: Oh god. Have you ever been so mesmerized by something that everything else in your life just doesn't seem to exist? Well, Pusher is a film that will suck you in. I was in a trance throughout this whole film. Pusher follows the story of Frank, an European drug dealer whose well, having a pretty shitty week. I won't spoil the story here, because god damn, what a story this is. Kim Bodnia, the guy that plays Frank, is nothing short of phenomenal. There's no performance in this movie that's below great, and a shout out to Mads Mikkelsen, who has a brief, but awesome part in this. This is a very intense movie, and I found it to be like watching a slow motion train wreck. There were quite a few parts in this movie that I just wanted to pause and take a breather, but I couldn't. It's that good. Yeah, it loses a little steam in the third act, and by a little, I mean a very small amount. Go check out this film.

Grant S (nl) wrote: Danny Rose (played by Woody Allen) is a theatrical agent. He has a wide and often odd assortment of clients but will do anything for them. One of his clients, Lou Canova (Nick Apollo Forte) - a washed up crooner from the 50s who is undergoing a resurgence, asks Danny to accompany his mistress, Tina (Mia Farrow), to one of his concerts - her presence helps him perform. Danny naturally obliges. However, Tina is also seeing a mob boss and when Danny is seen with her, the mob boss assumes Tina is two-timing him with Danny. This results in Danny and Tina being hunted by the mob. Adventures and hilarity ensue.A wonderfully exuberant and funny comedy from Woody Allen. Some great scenes (the shootout among the gas-filled balloons is priceless) and one-liners. A pretty good adventure too, though it does get a bit silly at times.Great performance by Woody Allen as Danny Rose. His over-the-top salesman-like shtick is wonderful to behold. Incredibly funny. A pity not more time was devoted to his interactions with clients and his sales pitches to promoters, as these scenes were hilarious.Equally brilliant is Mia Farrow. So good she is totally uncognisable as the blonde Italian-American bimbo Tina.Good fun, with a bit of romance thrown in too.
