Grant H (fr) wrote: Great movie. Alien Nation isn't completely original, as it combines minimal sci-fi with buddy-cop murder mystery, but it does have interesting parallels to the real world with its integration and discrimination with the aliens, sort of like an allegory to the way African-Americans were treated in the 60s and 70s. The film itself is entertaining, funny, some good thrills, and great performances from its cast, especially Caan and Patinkin.

Dave J (jp) wrote: Friday, October 1, 2010 (1965) Shenandoah DRAMA/ WESTERN James Stewart holding his family together with it's dilemmas of living in a remote home centered between the war of the North and South during the Civil War! Bases for another film called "The Patriot". although this film consists some very good dialogue, it would've been nice if this film had gotten a happier ending but it wouldn't really be a movie without the misgivings! 2.5 out of 4

Alison L (it) wrote: Never fails to illicit some tears. Fabulous performances by the entire cast.

Mary S (nl) wrote: A lot of good ideas are thrown in there, but they never really come together story-wise. The art is gorgeous, with plenty of quirky character designs and beautiful scenery that easily compensate for the occasional stiffness. The voice cast does an amazing job and provides a few laughs along the way.

Grant T (nl) wrote: The artist pays homage to our classic age of film, but I'm glad movies have dialogue now. The lead performances were excellent and the film was well made. I just couldn't get myself fully wrapped around the story because it was very slow and got pretty depressing at times. It was cool to see a film fully pledged to impressing its audience with actions alone, but I cannot commend it for best picture
