Daniel P (nl) wrote: Vitally important documentary on the - STILL - vastly under-acknowledged Rwandan genocide of 1994. Whilst this isn't an exhaustive documentary on the subject and is (necessarily) televisual, it is a fascinating, moving and disturbing one showing one man's descent into hell, and how he tries to come to terms with his helplessness in the years after.

Ashley G (jp) wrote: Following Linda Kasabian as the protagonist, we see the story of the Manson Family Murders through her eyes. The murders are definitely shocking and amped up through basic special effects (inversion and slowing of voices, making them similar to a drug-induced vision). Essentially a movie version of Vincent Bugliosi's book of the same name, events are sped up a little when it comes to the trial (which was much lengthier than shown in the movie, obviously cut for time). All the parts were played well, a good film overall.
Lawrence W (ca) wrote: I don't know how I fully feel about this film. Obviously a talented cast play only partially developed characters. We don't get to learn enough about supporting characters like those played by Bannen and Ben Johnson. We get only bits and pieces for everyone and also an anticlimactic finish.

Judge L (ag) wrote: Some 80's flicks need to be left back in the 80's. Was still funny to watch just for the cheesy 80's style.
Jess L (de) wrote: This film views as a painting, the cinematography is beautiful and the sets and costumes capture the period and characters perfectly. The story itself is slow moving, intense and intimate and draws the audience in. A little unsettling to see Firth in such a sleazy role but as usual he owns this role and in turn the film.
