Mitch T (de) wrote: Although it isn't a terrible movie, The Den suffers from a rather large amount of jumpscares, horror cliches, and dumb coincidences, whose only purpose is to make the protaganist go deeper into trouble. Its high point is at its climax scene, where the skill and expertise of filmmaking seemed to skyrocket; however, it resolved very poorly, and the film ends at an sudden and extreme low point.

WS W (fr) wrote: Talky, pretentious & bland. Ryan Donowho however shows he could actually (tried to, at the very least) act rather than just displaying his pretty face as he did in ??The O.C.??.
Jason L (au) wrote: This movie starts of a little odd & slow, but turns trashy - in a good way and gets much better. English accents, in VENICE??? And then some of the characters only had an accent in certain scenes... Agghhh that gets on my nerves. Did Kevin Costner direct this....Anyway, overall a good movie and worth watching.

Scott Caan and Ashely Scott are also along for the ride with Walker and Alba to help out. Directed by John Stockwell, the film is unabashedly populated with beautiful people and beautiful locations, which helps propel the film. There's nothing super original about this film, but a likable cast and solid direction from Stockwell makes this film kind of a guilty please of mine, although the film loses some of it's charm towards the second half when things take an unwelcome more serious of tone. I suppose the film is essentially a travelogue film with Josh Brolin as the villain.
