Lewis E (us) wrote: Been getting told observations/teased lately about my tendencies to write bad reviews, which is hard to deny considering my last 3+ stars was written when the afro was still in fashion, but here is a positive rating anyway for all those haters of the hater. 'Ill Manors' is probably nothing you ain't seen before (i.e. 'Kidulthood' or Channel 4 drama 'Top Boy') but still manages to be grippingly gritty, offer numerous impactful moments and effectively provide a unique and artistic method of conveying the usual messages through interweaving stories and musical narration. The relatively unknown cast also avoid overacting which is rare in this genre. Only real gripe is that the aftermath to one of the shocking events is not left long enough to resonate with the characters involved. This is a shame because it was a key turning point but not surprising I guess given the very nature of the movie was quite fast-paced. So yeah, a definite good review where I am actually recommending a movie instead of telling you to stay away. Enjoy it while it lasts.

David C (kr) wrote: Oh of the few great animated movies out there. Don't understand why it is an 8% rating when it should be in the 90's. seriously, good movie, good plot, interesting characters. Don't come in with expectations and youll love it! Enjoy

Steven L (jp) wrote: The premise is simple, but the stories we hear are anything but. In a war-torn country, a woman takes care of her comatose husband. While doing so, she eventually tells him how she really feels about their life, she confides secrets, and she shares dalliances. It is yet another reminder of the societal role of women in other cultures.

David M (kr) wrote: A slow burn psychological movie centering on a mans obsession with why his wife was murdered. It's very surreal and strange, maybe Lynchian almost. You can see Refn experimenting and growing with this one.

Alan R (au) wrote: Given how many people love this movie, the only way I can understand it is as a self-referential parody of itself. The movie: Chance the gardener, AKA Chauncy Gardener, is misunderstood as an oracle of wisdom rather than a moron. The critics: the movie is misunderstood as oracular and wise rather than as a totally implausible bore.

Pim C (ca) wrote: Lightweight mob comedy about a mobster's wife that tries to get away from her past after her mob husband dies, luckily it has a number of funny scenes in to break up an otherwise quite pedestrian and boring story, in fact the funny scenes are what stop the film from being poor. The only thing that prevented it from being really great was the film was simply too daft for the serious scenes to be taken seriously, if it had been done with more seriouness with the comedy it would have been a classic.

They are taken step by step through the Disney animation studio and learn how the artists, composers, and everyone in between that construct Disney classics. We then see Robert's final product in live animation magic."The most magnificent of all the dumb animals.""Dumb?"Alfred Welker delivers The Reluctant Dragon with the help of six other directions who delivered unique segments in this picture. I enjoyed how the "behind the scenes" at Disney was depicted. That was pretty cool even if the material may be dated but does display American History at its finest. The animation was wonderful and very fun."It's only a dragon, father."My daughter received this as part of a blu ray collection of older Disney movies for Christmas. We watched this first of the four movies in the collection and she did get a bit bored at the beginning, but enjoyed some of the short animations they displayed to show each step in the process. She adored the Donald Duck and Reluctant Dragon cartoons. I do recommend seeing this with your kids."I can't understand a thing he says."Grade: B-

Tanner B (de) wrote: -IGNORE THIS "OUT OF FIVE" RATING4/4Phenomenal film about a good hearted cop trying to go straight while everyone else around him is crooked. Al Pacino's performance is a tour de force, as is Sidney Lumet's direction, capturing the perfect amount of tension when it seems the most logical. Not a false note in characterization or dialogue.
