Wendy S (it) wrote: Nicely paced historical drama based on the true story of a White House butler who lives through 7 Presidents during the civil rights era. Forrest Whitaker is super in the role. Oprah plays his wife, Gloria, and is also magnificent. Son Louis is played by David Owelowo, who matches with MLK, a role he later masters in Selma. Lots of cameos for big named actors. Great movie.

Louis M (us) wrote: Gorier than hell this is a remake to the 1979 box office hit Toolbox Murders. It's a good movie with jumpy scenes and hammering people's faces all through.

John A (de) wrote: An engaging portrait of experimental filmmaker Maya Deren, the doc gives a capable introduction to her films. The emphasis here is on Deren's personal story, and so the interviews skew that direction, virtually (if not) all of them with people who knew Deren. Some critical reflection on what makes her films important or well-loved would have been nice, but the doc is solid as is.

Paul D (mx) wrote: A general biography of George Best's footballing career in Manchester both on and off the field, but extremely well presented, especially in the editing as the intercut playing action throughout doesn't feel forced.

ld p (br) wrote: I have been watching a lot of Louis Malle films lately and just finished Lancombe Lucien. I saw "Au Revoir les Enfants". on the big screen when it come out int the states. This film continues in the exploration of adolescent and WWII. Lucien is only 16 or 17 and wants to join the resistance underground but a series of incidents make him a collaborator and he joins the German Police. He is torn between the morals he grew up with and the morals of being one of "them:" Beautiful photography great sets great story. Not Malle's greatest effort but certainly a very good french movie!! four out of 5 stars.
