In 1950, 28-year-old outlaw Salvatore Giuliano is found gunned down in a Sicilian courtyard. Little is as it seems. The film moves back and forth between the late 1940s, when Giuliano and other reprobates were recruited by separatist politicians to do their fighting, and the days leading up to and following Giuliano's death.

Cynthia S (jp) wrote: This movie had the potential to be an excellent thriller/mystery but falls quite short. A star studded cast that unfortunately delivers mediocre performances. Flaws in directing and editing eliminate any possibility of tension or intrigue. Instead it plays as choppy and flat journey for Woodley's character, from teenager to adult, wondering about her mother's absence. I never once cared for nor connected with the lead character. With so many great actors it is a shame that there is such a lack of depth.

Carlos M (fr) wrote: A solid feel-good road-comedy, light-hearted and funny, with a very well-written dialogue as absolute highlight. It is really well made considering this is Levy's first film, and it benefits from a group of irresistible characters played by some perfectly tuned actors.

Ryan L (jp) wrote: People do not search for real life in a movie. They look to find a haven from there problems. They do not need reality. Many critics say this movie is predictable and unrealistic but who cares. This movie is funny and by the end of it you will feel generally happy.

Aravind R (it) wrote: well shot, i thought the script was a little predictable though, at many points. prakash raj, as usual does very well. worth a watch.

Tim M (br) wrote: It was amazing how unfunny this movie was. The writing reminded me of Kevin Smith, but worse, and with more effort. Only goes to show that the zombie genre is dead, and for good fucking reason people. How many good zombie flicks were there? The first person to mention Zombie Holocaust is a fucktard.

Welcome to it.This has a fine premise to it, I must say. A sociopath (Adrien Brody) kidnaps the claustrophobic wife of a millionaire and buries her in a box with about a day's worth of oxygen. A husband-and-wife cop team (Terry Kinney, Maura Tierney) have about that much time to figure out where she's buried.Brody was the only thing worth watching in Summer of Sam. Tierney does well in almost everything. Same with James Naughton, who plays the millionaire, and Paul Calderon as Tierney's on-again off-again partner. But this is bad. Bad, bad, bad. Despite wonderful sociopathy by Brody-once again the only decent thing about the flick (that's starting to become a refrain with me)-a number of subplots are started and never finished, no suspense is ever built up, the relationship between Tierney and her onscreen husband is just silly, the cliched battles between the cops and the bottle are trotted out with absolutely nothing new. All in all it's a jumbled, silly, unwatchable mess that should have been left on the cutting room floor. If you've got two hours to kill, spend them with Things to Do in Denver When You're Dead instead. *

bloodywhitetrap (it) wrote: this is probably the most underrated action movie ever about a heartbroken security agent who still grieving from his wife's death at the hands of a robbery he tried to stop boards a plane only to see that it has been hi jacked he must stop the bad guys to me this movies problem Is not with snipes he is badass in this movie the problem is the. movie felt kind of rushed and thrown together sloppily edited not with picture rather with scene it felt kind of like a parody of a action movie at times because besides snipes and the lead bad guy the supporting cast is awful paycheck hungry robots who couldn't act if you brainwashed them besides snipes and the lead bad guy the acting was horrible and after Wesley snipes took care of him at the end the final scene felt dumb and halfassed this movie is not bad its awesome but it could have been so much better had it not been lazy had it been cast better and less cheesy good movie because "its always better black"

A second random viewing made me realize this is probably my favorite film of his. All of his quirks and stylistic signposts just tie down one of the best coming of age stories I think I've ever seen. Name a better one, please! One that's not only funny and heartwarming but melancholy and cynical.
